(In 2011, at the age of 27, I kept a daily photo diary, and now, seven years later, I am serializing it here on Patreon.)

April 2, 2011

Oh man, a good day. A totally good day.

-Finished reading "The Eyre Affair" by Jasper Fforde

-Went shopping with Katie and Dylan for wedding invite papers (for them) and shipping supplies stocking (for Dylan and me). You guys. You guys. Completely sincerely, I get so excited about shipping supplies and office organization. I'm SUPER EXCITED to try out these new mailers we picked up. I think they're going to be a big improvement over the ones we've been using!

-Stopped at Walgreens to pick up a pill that I'll need for my 2nd eye surgery next week and while I was there found some LEGGINGS on sale so of course I bought the hell out of them. Love, love, loving the way they emphasize my ass.

-Went to the plant nursery with Matt and upon returning home he immediately got started on our tiny plot of dirty. There are things growing there now!

-Did laundry, watched comedies with Matt.

-Researched materials and assembled a reading list for my Magnum Opus comic project, Teen Sex. In all honesty, I probably won't be able to start drawing it until 2013, but I'm excited to find my reference material now and absorb the information that I'll be translating into a comic instructional guide, à la GirlFuck. [2018 Note- This was my first sex education comic that I made in, like, 2003? 2004? It used to be online but its been swallowed up by the sands of time and only exists as the physical minicomics I sold of it at conventions]

If only I could have made a rough pass at my two commissions, they're the only thing on my To Do list that I neglected. But, y'know, feeling pretty accomplished otherwise so I don't feel too badly about it.

April 3, 2011

We're 93 days into this year and I've actually been pretty good about following through on the goals I set in January.

-Exercise daily (check!)

-Travel

---fewer cons than 2010 (check!)

---visit friends (one so far!)

-Get a cat (not yet :( )

-Journal (check)

-Focus on the positive (I'm... trying)

-Cook for Matt weekly (hahaha FAIL)

-Read books (checkity check!)

-Go to life drawing (not yet)

-Socialize more (check)

---have friends over to my house

---go out

-Draw for pleasure, draw confidently (big fat nope on this one so far. It's kind of a problem, I never ever draw for fun, only work)

-Take classes (check! I'm enrolled in a silk screening class right now)

-Keep up with my 365 daily photo project (biggest success for far, haven't missed a day!)

Last minute photo!

April 5, 2011

I woke up at 7am remembering that I hadn't taken my 365 photo the night before D: This is my fake Day 95, even though it was really taken on Day 96. But, c'mon, 7 am still counts as last night, if you ask me.

April 6, 2011

About eight months ago I had LASIK done on my eyes, which improved my life immeasurably. My eyesight went from practically blind (-8/-9) to almost perfect. The low-level anxiety I used to feel every day, worrying about the completely fucked situation I'd find myself in should anything happen to my glasses or contacts while out and about, has completely evaporated.

As great as my new eyes have been, I'm still having trouble reading street signs when I'm on my bike or the bus. Either I could go get glasses again ooooooor the place where I got my eyes lasered has me covered for any follow up corrections for a year after my initial treatment so I went back under the knife (-er, laser?) to see if we couldn't get my eyes perfect after all.

Even if I'm never 20/20 on my own, this has still been an incredibly positive life-changing surgery for me and I'm super grateful to live in the future where we FIX OUR BODIES WITH LASERS.
