Audiobookin' (Patreon)

Here's how I drew a panel from this next Tuesday's comic, about OhMiBod's Lovelife Adventure Triple Stim Vibrator (woof, what a mouthful. [THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID {That's not what she said because this is not an oral toy. Jeez.}]) 

Not getting my work done during the week and having to finish it over the weekend is always a bummer, but now that Matt's doing all the coloring on the comic it's a GUILTY bummer because now I'm stealing his days off too :-/ And on top of that, I drew a really confusing action shot that does not translate at ALL and Matt did the best he could to color it but it's kind of a mess and he feels bad about the job he did on it and I feel bad that he feels bad and also I feel bad that I couldn't figure out a better way to draw that thing. #HAROOO. 

Alright, so I've been going nuts on audiobooks since I finally figured out how to use the library's OverDrive app on my phone. I consumed SEVEN whole books (And a third of an eighth book) during January! That's nuts! 

And then parallel to that, Bitch Magazine has had their volunteer Morgan Kelly transcribing the OJST comics they license from me, so that visually impaired readers can still follow along using screen readers. It turns out her transcriptions aren't just typing up the dialogue on the page (Like I had ignorantly assumed), but she's actually writing a whole little story! She's writing fun descriptions of everything taking place, really turning it into its own bit of enjoyable prose. I wouldn't have thought comics would translate well to this, but she actually makes it work. 

Which got me thinking. Now, I'll just say right off the bat that I can't actually make this happen, Matt and I don't have the time. BUT. But. 

Maybe I could make an audiobook of OJST volume one? Like, someday far in the future, I could do a Kickstarter to cover the costs of hiring a... I don't even know what they're called. An audio technician? At an audio studio? And I could read a transcribed version of the book and then this Freelance Wizard of Sound could turn it into an audiobook? 

I dunno! 

But it's fun to consider :3
