Hello, my lovely Patreon patrons! Lucy Bellwood and I sat down again last month or so and recorded another one of our conversations, like we did that one time a while ago.

Just like last time, this isn't an episode that we're releasing publicly because we're being a bit more vulnerable than what is "safe" to release on The Public Internet, so I ask that you please do not share this elsewhere :) 

I'm going to borrow some of Lucy's description of this episode because... because my brain and my heart are tired and she did such a good job of breaking it down already.

As with our last recording, this discussion covered some dark stuff. We talked about politics, which can be enough of a mess in and of itself these days, but also mental health, PTSD, anxiety, and just...this wasn't really a Let's Impart Some Wisdom discussion? It was more a Things Are Flippin' Hard in The World Right Now and We Need to Unload About it Maybe a Little with a Friend Discussion. (We do, however, get around to talking about positive steps you can take to get involved around the 60-minute mark, so just skip there if you wanna bypass the angst and get into the action.)

Here's a rough outline of what we discussed:

• Engaging with the world and creating a sense of self.
• The scale of activism in relation to self-care.
• Balancing politics and personal projects.
• Fixed action patterns in our freelance careers.
• When your career superpowers are actually neuroses in disguise.
• Having a Public Personality and how it can bleed into (or eclipse) your regular life.

• Being a professional corpse that people can poke at in public, and how to go clock out of that job at the end of the day.
