'Dropbox' usage starts in January! (Patreon)

Starting in January, I will be using Dropbox to protect myself from content theft.  Please refer to this post as a Q&A detailing why i'm making this change and how it impacts readers. (the short of it is that my patrons will still easily be able to access my content and will just need to periodically enter a password to view the correct 'Dropbox' folder)

Question: Why are you making this change?

Answer: Posting directly links to google docs where everyone has access makes it too easy for people to simply copy/upload my early access posts, and then others merely click the 'everyone has access' google doc links.  Dropbox allows me to password protect folders and not post direct links to Google Docs

Question: I haven't used Dropbox before, will I have to jump through hoops to see your stuff?

Answer: Not at all!  After receiving the Dropbox link via DM, you will need a free Dropbox account, but you can simply click a button to join with your Gmail, and it only takes a second.  Or, you can manually create a free account or use one of the other 'link' options.

Question:  You mentioned password protection.  How do I receive the folder link and the password?Will the password change?

Answer: All patrons will be DM'd the folder link and provided with the necessary password.  On the 1st of the month, I will change the password and then send out bulk DMs to members of the tiers in question with the new password, along with the folder link in case you don't have it.  New patrons who join during the month will be provided this information within the automated 'Welcome' message based on tier.  These automated welcome messages will be edited monthly to contain the new password as well.

Question: What will I see when I open the dropbox link?  How will your content be organized?

Answer: Instead of being linked to individual images/docs, you will have access to an entire folder for the $5 tier or $2.50 tier, depending on your tier.  There will be sub-folders for 'Serials', 'Short Stort Stories,' but the exact structure of this is up in the air.  you will be able to easily see/view the early access content within the Dropbox folder without having to save a bunch of individual google doc links.

Question:  Will this impact old content in any way?

Answer: While I may start importing old content into Dropbox, this change will only impact new/future content.  All old content will still be accessible via the google doc links as usual.

Question: What if I notice or run into issues using Dropbox?

Answer: Send me a DM and I'll usually respond/investigate within 3 hours unless I am asleep.  Never hesitate to say hi!

Question: Can you tl;dr this whole Dropbox thing plz?

Answer: I'm using Dropbox to avoid content theft.  There will be two Dropbox folders for $5 and $2.50 tiers.  On the 1st of every month, each member will receive a DM with the updated password for their tier's folder. (I will also provide the folder link though I don't think that will change).  New members who join during the month will instantly receive the same information (link and password) via a welcome message that also gets updated on the 1st of every month.  Making a Dropbox account is easy/instantaneous and this format will allow you to view all early access content far easier than before.  If you notice any issues, DM me and I usually respond within 3 hours unless I am asleep.
