Hey friends

Today I have a devlog post, on which I talk about the difficulties that I had over the last month

I initially started working on Kinky Fight Club 2 trying to set up all the basic systems, the core elements for the game before everything else. But as I was writing and adding stuff I realized how much the game/s have grown in the last years.

Let me put a simple example

The first for Kinky Fight Club had two playable characters, no customization, only 8 sex positions, and like 5 base features.

On the contrary, the current version of kinky fight club has over 70 different features added,some of those simpler and easy to implement (like starting fully clothed or naked) and some more complicated (like the whole keep going system), and let’s not even take into account all the features added in the last game (like the futa type of dick selection as an example)

Making a list of what is basic and what is not is a bit complicated, since sometimes adding something that wasn’t basic would require rewriting previous code, which is something I dislike. I really dislike having to re-do stuff.

So here I am, pondering what is essential for a decent first demo, and what isn’t, and how much time I can allocate to work on each project.

Originally I intended for the first demo of Kinky Fight Club 2 to do not include customization, as that would make things much much easier and I could spend a whole month focusing on that, but I decided that at this point adding a new game without customization as a base feature would be very…bad, at least as a player I wouldn’t be happy if the guy who makes ultra customizable games doesn’t make it customizable!

Another heavy feature that I’m currently thinking about if I have the time to add in or just skip is the Keep going feature. This feature became a fan favorite, but adding it requires quite a bit of work.

I’m also having a similar issue with threesomes, there is no way I can get threesomes on the first demo of Kinky Fight Club 2, but at the same time I have to make the systems taking into account that I will eventually add threesomes to the game, either via “Tag-team” companions, or using one of the referees as the “Third player”, or maybe something totally different.

But at the end of the day, every feature added in the past helps and complicates the whole process!

This may not be the most informative devlog I ever made, but it is something that I been thinking a lot today, you know, how high the bar for quality has come (even though this is something self imposed, because there is no regulation over quality in game development in general), even for a first demo.

Getting back to Solas City Heroes, I decided to not include clothing physics for the game. All of the options require to either include a lot of extra stuff that is very impacting on performance, or add “physically baked” versions of all the clothing that would interact with physics. Now this second option doesn’t sound so bad, except when you have to take into account that I would have to make and bake all those versions, and add them to the list of items to load, in a game that already loads 900 items. So I would rather not keep adding more stuff that consumes ram unnecessarily, but mostly I don’t have the time to do all that work manually.

In the future I may add that once I can hire someone to do that or come up with a better custom solution.

What I will be adding on the next update is threesomes and heavy bondage to the Sex simulator (gallery)!

It took me a lot of work, but I managed to get them working (just today!) so next week you will have a lot of cool stuff to try out!

Tag Team in KFC2 would be fire somewhere down the road of it's development as long as the players partner was AI Controlled(or could be set as AI Controlled at the players discretion) and could work with a Spectator Mode like KFC1 had. The just watch and keep going options in KFC1 were fantastic.
