Looking forward to your perspectives on this one as someone who has many interests that I just don't really feel I have the time or sometimes the energy for. I decided to "learn Blender with the goal of making animations" during the first wave of Covid lockdowns in the UK and I've learned so much since, branching out into animation courses etc but "now I know" I've come to the realization that I don't realistically have enough free time to do anything meaningful animation wise, it's an all consuming path. It's not been a waste as I model for 3D printing in blender now but I am wondering what I do put my time into that'll bring me joy in creativity while trying to ignore some of the sunk cost of my previous path. I could easily retire and more than fill my days with things I want to do. :D

Some really good points you mentioned. So plus one for that alone. I think for many it still is about how can I accomplish x with a free program. Like substance and many others in the industry are sub-based. You can do many things in e.g. blender or gimp though. If you save time at one point you might invest more time to go and understand how textures/pbr are really created and how nodes work. Just a thought, Also on a side note: shot cut is really great.

Honestly, a lot of people especially the ones that come to me for consultations have echoed exactly what you just said here. There are a lot of people on your path that have a very similar experience and predicament. We'll be covering this topic towards the end of the series, because there is quite a bit of different directions you could take from this position, and many of them can still be very fulfilling even if you don't have the time to dedicate 100% - Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment, I'll do my best to cover this topic in the coming videos -
