Hey Squad, just wanted to touch bases with you guys real quick. We're almost done with the Substance painter series. I've been doing my best to upload at least 1 tutorial each day to get through this content as fast as possible. And, I believe we will complete the series within about days.

In the background, I've also been doing a lot of thinking as to what should be our first project in Unreal 5 should be. It's a MASSIVE topic, and we will no doubt be in it for multiple months, but that doesn't mean we can't also make something cool while we're making tutorials for it.

In the past, one of the biggest slow-down factors for me when making a project has been the time it takes to create new characters and 3D assets. So, when we get to unreal, I want to set it in a way where if I need to make new characters for whatever reason, it will be easy and relatively quick. At the moment, I'm planning to set it in a Fantasy Medieval setting, with most of the characters being some sort of knights. The main reason for this, I love that genre, knights are cool, and you can cover their faces with helmets, while also keeping their hands occupied holding weapons. So, as far as animating goes, I don't have to worry about facial or hand motion capture stress. Quick body motion capture will be all that's necessary when adding new characters and animations.

So, in preparation for all this, I've been scurrying to quickly fill all the holes in my workflow as fast as possible behind the scenes. I've been collecting library assets to help kitbash new characters, and finalizing techniques for sculpting, texturing, and animating new characters quickly. There are a few things left I need to order, but all in all so far so good.

It's been difficult finding time to do all this while also uploading a video everyday, but just wanted to let you guys know that for the remainder of the month, I'll have my hands full finishing the series as fast as I possibly can. Thank you so much for all your support and patience -

As, always hope you have a fantastic day, and I'll see ya around-!!

I just subscribed to you a few moments ago here on Patreon and I just saw this post; OMG!!! I am so excited that you are going to be covering Unreal Engine 5 right after your Substance series. You are so in my wheelhouse right now.

A thought from a fellow Armored Core fan (admittedly not as dedicated a fan, but still): your game series with Unity covered a Sci-Fi game with AC and Metroid inspiration, you're thinking of doing Fantasy Medieval for the next setting, why not take some more inspiration From Software? We all love Soulslike games :P And if you want to mix it with something, the Drakengard/Nier series and/or any of the 16FF series xD could be a good resource to pull from methinks.

Welcome to the Squad, and thank you so much for joining! I'm really excited to go to Unreal too, I've wanted to move there from Unity for some time now, I just wanted to finish all the old tutorials first - Looking forward to seeing what we can do once we get to our new engine, but in the meanwhile, you take care man!

Hey man, thank you so much for joining the squad, and ALWAYS a pleasure to meet a fellow Raven, please feel free to make yourselves right at home :) Also, that's actually very similar to what I'm planning on doing for the Unreal series - I wanna mix Medieval Fantasy with... guns somehow lol - I have a few ideas, but I'll talk about that more in a few later posts - Anyway, hope you look forward to what's coming up, and as always hope you have a Fantastic Day!
