Is it just me? The video doesn't seem to play.

Could be a browser issue, the video is working for me.

I'm still undecided about Zbrush, I love blender, the ui for me is much better than something like Maya and wouldnt zbrush just replace the blender sculpting only? Not sure if you can poly model in zbrush.

I guess it's possible -- but I tried your previous video and it works just fine. This one just gives me a black rectangle. Am I right that you post all videos on YouTube at the same time as here? I'm not seeing it there either.

You were right -- it was a problem at my end. Sorry for the noise! I had the "blocktube" firefox addon blocking zbrush content from my blender-related subscriptions. I unblocked it and now the video works. Sorry again!

Well, I'm a blender-all-the-way person myself. But I don't think RoyalSkies is advocating Zbrush -- he seems more interested in simply using the best tool for the job while helping the blender developers understand what they still need to accomplish. I'm not trying to speak for him! That's just my guess. Ultimately (no idea if I'm right or not) blender will leave all commercial tools in the dust. But before that day comes, it's fascinating to see people like RoyalSkies showing what he's doing, and comparing different pieces, and actually identifying the aspects of a given tool that he uses in real life to get his stuff done. But yeah. Ultimately Zbrush is too limited. It's sort of like OpenToonz. That's a tool that was used by Studio Ghibli in actual big-time production. But no matter how good it is, it doesn't begin to compare to blender because Grease Pencil has access to the full powerhouse of blender's other features. OpenToonz would have to implement an entire 3D system in order to offer similar functionality. And I think it'll be the same with ZBrush. At a certain point it simply won't be able to provide the features it would need to compete with blender. Some people believe the reverse -- that as a specialized tool Zbrush will always be ahead in its area of specialization. But I disagree, and time will tell. But while Zbrush really *is* ahead, I'm suddenly finding myself fascinated by whatever RoyalSkies (and I guess other people now) are saying about it.

I have nothing against zbrush and what I've seen people make is incredible, I too want to make my very own characters, but I think I'll be sticking to blender to do everything, my character creation, weapons and armours, rigging the only thing I use outside of blender is substance painter which I love but yea everything else I just do in blender, I really do think blender will leave everything in the dust eventually like you said before.
