Soooooo, now that the Sculpting phase for the enemies is completed, I've been trying to find the most efficient way to quickly retopo things from zBrush to a usable character we can rig/animate in Blender. It has quickly become apparent to me that manually retopologizing all 9 enemies takes up WAY too much time. It would be impossible for me to finish the game by this year doing all this manually. The most valuable resource for me right now is time, so I decided to test things out in Maya because they claimed their retopo stuff got a lot better in 2020 - Here are the test results. I'm honestly shocked lol - Because with this tool, I can literally save hundreds of hours not needing to retopo everything myself anymore :)

Retopology TEST!!!

This is my first time using the 2020 Version of Maya, a lot has changed since I left it in 2018, BUT so far, the retopo tool is absolutely incredible!!! Here are some initial tests I ran just to see how fast and easy it was to use :)

Also look at Tesselator $6.38 (on sale) also DynRemesh $11.25 or with AutoFlow $26.25 (on sale) on Blendermarket. I'm sure there are more that do similar things without going out of Blender.

Too bad you have to use rentware to retop. I agree with our fellow squad mates, Blender has pleanty of options that will do the job just as good as Maya.

I knew about Tesselator, but didn't know about the other options. I think I'll probably test them all out, and maybe even make a video comparing everything lol - Anyway, much appreciate the info, thanks!

Well, with all these recommendations, I'll definitely be spending some time trying them all out before I settle on a final retopo workflow. I'm not an expert in retopo, so for all I know there could be lots of better ways to do it out there that I just need to try :)
