So, as I've been practicing zBrush every day for a week now, and I'm beginning to understand why it's the number one sculpting software. This led me to a very important question I think we should seriously address here in our community:

At what point do you think we should consider adopting another software over Blender?
My reason for asking is because I have been keeping an eye on Blender's competition, and I'm quite impressed with the how fast they are catching up. Blender's biggest strength is it's price. But, the most ironic thing I've found is that almost all of the best Add-Ons for Blender cost money, sometimes going from $50-$100. At which point, often invalidates the point of using Blender in the first place, because for prices like that, you could be using paid software that would do a better job.

How are you finding ZBrush so far? While it's great that Blender is free, as someone already said, you get what you paid for in some cases. I think it's important to be acquainted with other programs, especially since some really are an industry standard (like Maya, 3Ds Max and Zbrush) and it must be hell to get used to a completely new program in a big team of people. Although compared to most, ZBrush is pretty cheap, especially if you choose the lifetime purchase.

If it is a flat rate $20 that's fine but I'm not a huge fan of monthly subscription cost models.
