I'm currently waiting for the Rokoko Actress I've selected for the advanced Rokoko Series to finish studying/taking a test. It will be a few days before she's available to come for a recording session. In the spirit of making sure I'm not wasting time in the meanwhile, I decided to work on the weapons for Our upcoming game "Macrophage", and we have encountered our FIRST super important problem that I need your opinion on.

I'm trying to decide between two sounds for the Pistol. The pistol in our game is actually a powerful magnum. It's a powerful last resort when ammunition's for all other weapons has been depleted.

For some reason, Patreon wont let me combine video's with polls, so please watch the video above and let me know in the comments which sound you think fits the weapon better-

A or B??

I prefer A, but whichever you choose, I think they could both benefit from slightly less reverb at the end.

Combine them. Sound A has a heavy bass rumble that makes it sound powerful, but sound B has that cutting report with a slight echo that makes it stand out. Use the low end of A and the higher frequencies of B and get the best of both worlds. And as lastZED suggested, don't use reverb on the sound itself- it's better added as a realtime effect so it can change according to the environment.

This is actually a fantastic idea- I liked each of them precisely for the reasons you listed, but, I didn't think about overlapping them! I'll try some different version of mixes, but I'll try and keep the 'B' sound as the main root noise since I do agree with most of the comments the clean distinct shot noises help pronounce the power - You also get extra points for knowing the word 'Reverb' lol - I've literally never heard anyone else use that word outside of the music track community haha
