So, I've been doing a lot of polling, discussing, and planning for future. As, you guys have probably heard, the gloves for the motion capture suit will be arriving within the next few months. This will be the first time I've had access to a full body mocap set-up that includes hands.

You guys have probably noticed by now, but human animation is my favorite part of 3D. It's the part I feel the most fun doing, and it's the one thing I would like to strive to perfect over the years. It's also one of the most difficult things to master, and I know a lot of people struggle to get decent looking animations. A lot of small studios and new Blender artists simply don't have the resources to afford a full-body mocap suit. So, the fact that we have one at all is something I consider a lucky blessing.

With all that being said, I'd really like to use it on Behalf of all the people who can't. The Tier 2 Squad and I have thought of a new system that we are hoping will make a difference for everyone else who needs quality animations but can't afford them. So here's the plan -

Once the gloves arrive. Every month I'll open a Patron Poll where you guys get to request animations you would like me to record with the suit. Once we've got a few requests, the Tier 2 patrons will cast the final vote for the animations that get recorded. At the end of each recording session, I'll post the download link here for you guys to have early access. And 2 weeks later, I'll release them to the public on our website -

Over time, we'll build up a free library that anyone can go to and download animations they might need, but not be able to afford normally.

It's gonna be a month or two before I have the gloves and we implement this. But, I wanted to go ahead and let you all know what my plans are. Anyway, hope you guys look forward to that. And, thank you so much for being here. I really don't know what else to say. But, I could never have been in the position to give so much to the community if it weren't for you guys being here each month.

I hope you guys understand that every animation, model, rig, and video I post is just as much your gift to the Blender community as it is mine.  So, I hope you are all as proud of our work as I am :)

Stay safe everyone, and as always have a Fantastic Day- !

Remember there is CMU free mocap library so please don't repeat it much, I guess some deeper/detailed stuff is needed. Also we never have enough locomotion... Thank you for doing this!

the oculus quest has good hand tracking. I use a program called Glycon that lets you export FBX in ascii (also FBX set up for Unreal) and BVH. I have a vive tracker set up that i'm using for mocap as well. I haven't tried the quest version of Glycon but i've seen the dude's video on youtube and it looks pretty good. Glycon is in beta right now but you can get his stuff if you sub at glycon3d.com .
