So, here's the plan. The Motion Capture poll was pretty close. Unlike most polls, this one had quite a number on both sides. It was by far the biggest split I've ever seen here on Patreon. Most of you wanted to save money for a nice mocap suit. However, some of you in the comments brought up a good point in that Kinect is probably the only hardware the vast majority of Blender users can afford. And, I didn't really feel comfortable just leaving everyone in that category to fend for themselves.

So, I've decided instead of skipping Kinect and going straight to a nice suit. We're going to start with Kinect, and save up for a nice suit afterwards. This way, for anyone who just wants to get a taste of motion capture, they can get their hands on a Kinect and follow along in the tutorials. When we can afford a nice suit, we'll upgrade to it then, and from there we'll be comparing the differences between the quality you get with Kinect, and the quality you get with the Neuron Body suit.

Now, this does mean it will slow us down a bit. I'll have to create two separate intermediary rig adjustments, one for Kinect, and one for Neuron when we get there. I'd like to finish the brunt of the Animation series before we pivot to Kinect mocap since I do believe they are related. So, the plan is: for the next 2ish weeks, I'll try complete all of Exa's animations for Macrophage. I'll have a brief programming lesson showing you guys how to export and animate your animations in unity. And, right afterward, before we move to the modeling series, I'll dedicate a week to mocap with Kinect. This way, we'll cover all the major bases for what people need to know for animation in Blender. At least, that's the plan, so we'll see how it goes -

Hope that clears things up. Thank you to everyone who participated in the polls and left feedback in the comments. It really helps me pinpoint the stuff you guys would like to see in the upcoming content :)

As always, hope you have a fantastic day, and I'll see ya around -

Best,

-Royal Skies-

Nice ! I didn't participate in the vote because I'm not using mocap right now and not sure I will need for my project, so I didn't want to influence the decision. But from an outside point of view, I think this is the best choice you could make.
