So, after doing lots and lots of research I think I've figured out what we're gonna do. We're going to invest in Iclone7 (https://mocap.reallusion.com/iClone-motion-live-mocap/buy.html). Now there are a few reasons:
-1st, is because it's a software I trust. It's been around for years, and has only gotten better since I first found it.
-2nd, is because the software specializes in animation at a AAA level. Which means, it's reliable, intuitive, and efficient.
-3rd, because it's compatible with all the most common motion captures you would want, and has compatibility with upgrades like hands, and facial recognition in addition to body mocap that we can upgrade to later.

That being said, there are two ways we can go about this. We can start with Kinect
The Iclone7 specific version, which would be $200 for Iclone, and $100 for the Kinect set-up. https://www.reallusion.com/store/product.html?l=1&p=ic#kinectmocap

Or, we can save our money and instead of Kinect we can purchase the Neuron body suit in a few months for $1000. Which, I guarantee you will save you hundreds of hours on clean-up and foot jitter.

From there, eventually when we save up another $1500, we'll be able to buy the gloves for hand motion capture:  https://neuronmocap.com/content/product/perception-neuron-studio-gloves

And, once we save up another $1600, one day we'll be able to buy the facial motion capture that goes along with it here:  https://mocap.reallusion.com/iClone-motion-live-mocap/buy.html

Either way, if we're gonna do animation seriously, eventually we will need the full suit: body, hands, and face. But, what I like about clone7 is you can do things 1 piece at a time depending on available equipment, and it's render engine is built to handle live motion capture for the whole body.

So, I leave the decision to you guys. What would you prefer we do?

With all these software being thrown around for hundreds of dollars some of them getting up into the thousand dollar price range you're entering levels in which you might as well Buy Autodesk motionbuilder for 1600. A lot of the users of this channel probably will not be able to follow along considering the high entrance fee of these software's. With that in mine the motion-capture suit or the kentic are you wanting to create animations for the community because if you're going to be doing tutorials for the software's you pick up you'll be doing them to a different group of people the majority of the people on here use blender. It's up to you I still support you but if you do go this route with custom software I'll still be on my own trying to figure out how to do it in blender.

After giving it much thought, I decided to go ahead with the Kinect first in order to make sure that the channel, for the next few months, is still targeted towards hobbyist in Blender. We'll save up for nice equipment here on Patreon in the background, and more than likely do our own thing here as we upgrade to software that I believe is worth the investment. Something I'm also considering is starting an Animation library for Patrons only. I'll probably be making new animations till the day I die, and as I create new animations with better equipment, I'll keep building up a library which you guys will probably be able to pull from here on Patreon. That's still a little ways off. But, we'll definitely be sticking with Blender as our "home base". As long as Blender can read FBX files, it shouldn't matter where the FBX files come from. But, I'm curious to see how accommodating the newer versions of Blender will be for Mocap. So far, it seems to work, but the fact that I almost never see mocap updates in the "schedule" on the Blender tell me it's really not a priority for them, which is kinda scary -

Just so you know, I did some research as well when investing in my mocap suit and I found rokoko was the best option for price. If you choose the Neuron Suit Kit with base station and all you need it starts at $7000. The Suit BY ITSELF cost $1000 so I do not think thats worth it. Keep in mind I have only ever used Xbox Kinect Gen 2 and rokoko
