We are the weirdos, mister.

Ah, yes... Finally... the season of the witch has arrived! I actually forgot all about this set until I was scrolling around through past work trying to find some appropriate work to publish for the beautiful, creepy, spooky month of October.

So many years ago now, I attended a creative group workshop that a bunch of us fellow artists put on. No one charged and no one got paid; we just all chipped in for a gorgeous cabin up in the Smokey Mountains and spent the entire weekend making friendships, memories, and art. The sad thing is, I actually barely got any images back from anyone, and I remember posing for quite a few folks. Reasons like this are why I don't do these types of things anymore, and if I did, I'd play photographer. I pride myself in treating models the exact way I'd like to be treated when I'm a model; I think photographers who are not on the other side of the lens can sometimes find it hard to see things from our point of view. Nonetheless, it really was an amazing trip that I am grateful to have went on. It was great getting to hear advice from experts in the field and watch them work, as I was still pretty green to professional photography at this point.

During the getaway, I met this young artist I had followed for a little while now. Madi Lee is the one who threw the event together and I was thrilled to meet and create with her. I wanted to experiment with our witchy collections together, but I forgot all of mine at home. Thankfully she brought her tarot cards, some crystals, and a cauldron. I supplied the glorious bones.

I snapped some myself of her that I will try to get to very soon. It started pouring a few minutes after we set up, so in order to salvage her cards, we had to move fast. Kind of killed the scene, but I loved what we accomplished in just a few minutes.
