The First Trip (Patreon)

This commission for Scuzzbucket is canonical and takes place shortly after Shiro and Nadine's scene together in chapter six. :)
"What are you two doing out here, anyway?" asked Parker.
Nadine froze, as did Shiro. They'd both been still as statues since young Miss Olsen waved them down from across the outdoor cafe.
They'd been so careful, planning their secret weekend getaway. The next town over wasn't enough. The next two towns over wasn't enough. Nadine had insisted they drive all the way to the coast to make absolutely sure no one from Castlewood might recognize them in public together. They wore disguises, they took separate cars. It was foolproof. Yet here it was, crashing down all because one adorable little bringer of the apocalypse took a surfing trip and spotted them at their table.
"Beach scholarship!" blurted Shiro. "Vice Principal Holt and I are out here discussing my potential beach scholarship."
"Beach scholarship?" asked Parker. "What's that?"
"It's like a sports scholarship, but...more beach themed. Naturally, we had to meet at a beach to test my aptitude."
Parker frowned. "What's the fake mustache for?"
"Uhh, well...," Shiro stammered as he reflexively stroked his upper lip. "It's...it's embarrassing, but it makes me feel more professional. Dress for the job you want, you know?"
Parker looked back at Nadine. "Vice Principal? Why are you dressed like the invisible man?"
Nadine peaked out from behind her comically huge black sunglasses, scarf, and wide-brimmed hat. "I-I have a condition that makes me very sensitive to...beach-related sunlight. I have to be very careful."
"Then why would you be the one in charge of beach scholarships, then?"
This was it. Their entire affair was about to be undone by a girl who was once tricked into thinking stray cats get made into discount furniture.
"Say, Parker," said Shiro. "I heard you and Isaac started dating, is that true?"
Just like that, every drop of suspicion poofed away from Parker's sweet little face. She smiled brightly as she pulled up a chair, and it was twenty minutes before she stopped talking about her new boyfriend. Eventually, Parker cheerfully excused herself, and Nadine wasted no time in paying the tab and getting both her and Shiro the hell out of there.
They'd had a whole day planned, but the couple was too spooked now to go out in public again. Thankfully, they both had the same idea on how to pass the time in their hotel room.
Of all the times Nadine and Shiro had sex, this was the best it had ever been for her. She got to make noise, and just really cut loose on her lover in a way she never had before. It was so liberating not to have to worry about sneaking him out the back door afterwards as well. When they were done doing it, they would just fall asleep together, simple as that. It was all Nadine could ever want.
Despite a near-catastrophe, Nadine and Shiro's first romantic getaway had been a success. Though Nadine insisted that next time, they would go to the next country over.
