As I often do, I came up with the pose before I decided what character to draw this week. And since this pose looked especially submissive I figured a younger character would fit best. (But not too young. Let's not go nuts. Come to think of it Batgirl is eighteen right? Hello?) I did my best to feature what I assume is her current costume, or at least a recent one. She certainly looks more utilitarian and combat-functional than she did when I was introduced to her on the old Batman Animated Series. Back then she dressed like a Batman themed cheerleader. Which was rad.

Anyhow I don't think I've ever picked up a Batgirl comic in my life, but I'm a bit of a rare case: I consider myself a Batman fan, and am ever interested in new media featuring the character and his universe...except in comic books.

Strange I know, I love Batman but simply don't care for the comics he's in. I find them depressing and frankly kind of gross, seeming to rely heavily on increasingly shocking violence to keep readers engaged. I think the issue where Joker sliced his own face off to wear as a mask(?) was the last one I read. Though to be fair, that was years ago. It's possible they've changed since then. What do you think? Are those comics worth me giving them another shot now? Let me know.

Thinking I might do another barely legal DC sidekick next week. I'm trying to come up with someone who could go up against Wonder Girl in a poll. If you have any ideas I'd be happy to hear them.

Supergirl and Miss Martian are always good options

Reinbach

Miss Martian could work, I haven't drawn her in ages. But I did Supergirl relatively recently. It was before I started tagging posts though I think, so I just attached the image above if you want to check it out.

Maybe Holly Robinson with another girl?

I love that you used the Burnside costume good choice

I say Raven or Stargirl (Courtney Whitmore)

Okay, this is a long one, buckle up. 1. Her Batgirl of Burnside costume, the one you've depicted, is for the most part pretty functional and cool. With the sole exception that for some fucking reason they decided to draw her with these yellow boots with laces that are way too long, and are always coming untied. They love the gag of "Oops, she accidentally dodged a lethal projectile by bending down to tie her stupid boot at an opportune moment!" Barbara Gordon is supposed to be one of the smartest people in the DCU, and yet she can't figure out double-knotting a fucking shoelace so it stays tied? I hate it, I hate it, I hate it so goddamned much. 2. The Batman comics got worse before they got better, the New 52 was rough all around. There was a period after the face-off where Joker came back and he was immortal and after foiling him and his big city-wide attack, Bruce lost his memory and stopped being Batman and they roped Jim Gordon into it, riding a big blue bat-mech. I'm not even fucking kidding. Thankfully though, it is better now. Tom King, the current Batman writer is probably gonna go down as one of the all-time greats. The beginning of his run is probably a good place to start. 3. If you're looking for younger(but not too young) DC girls who are like college-aged, not counting Supergirl because you used her recently, here are a few good candidates: Stephanie Brown(Spoiler, also had a stint as Batgirl pre-New 52), Harper Row(Bluebird), Natalie Irons(Steel, after her uncle John Henry Irons the original Steel...she's also canonically a lesbian, if that factors in), Courtney Whitmore(Stargirl), Donna Troy, Lilith Clay(Omen), Ravager(Rose Wilson).

Ha ha, goddamn. That’s so submissive she almost looks drugged/coerced into this. Regarding the Batgirl book, it was gory for a while , then turned into Fun Teen/College Drama, and then a boring writer took over, and I left. Regarding her age, initially Batgirl was older than Nightwing, then she was a SENATOR, which makes her 30+. She looked noticeably dowdy when the Joker crippled her. She was revised to the "just above Nightwing" age post-Crisis, but has since gotten younger-looking lately, to the point where she's barely college-aged now... despite having been allied with Batman for years. Her purple costume comes from the modern trend in female costumes, where they're very cowl-y and have sporty, spunky little designs. Sometimes it works better than others- I think hers and Spider-Gwen's look pretty good, but I'm a sucker for the Yvonne Craig original from the '60s show. Regarding teen heroines, Cyclone is my favorited DC character ever- exciteable, overly chatty, red hair and freckles. She’s PERFECT.

Barbara is actually a full grown adult as far as I know. As for the burnside costume, it's fashionable (looks great for looking cool) but not for fighting. As for a new pin up, why not go with Jessie Quick? She's not barely legal, but she's quite attractive and moves almost as fast as Casey.

barbara banged bruce in "killing joke" the animated movie and hinted it in the tv series "batman and beyond" im sure shes legal

Bob Fink

Even though this looks totally hot, she looks like she's not a fan of getting a mouth full of cum. As for another DC character, I agree with Super Girl.

That black guy

Bat girl is supposed to be in her mid 20s just her frame makes her look teen aged

Angelo

You could put both Wonder Girls up against each other in the poll. Donna Troy vs Cassandra Sandsmark

ScuzzBucket

Donna is my Comic Book Wife- I would vote for her any day. Long black hair, a sweet personality, and low standards in male partners- what's not to love :) ?

Reinbach

Well as a general rule these pin ups are single character, as they need to be something I can finish in one day. But Holly Robinson is definitely someone I haven't drawn.

Reinbach

Well I did do Raven relatively recently, but Stargirl is a new one for me.

Reinbach

Really? I didn't mean for things to look too rapey. I'd hoped the notion that she was taking her own clothes off would show she was in favor of the action, (if a little reluctant.) But that's something I'll have to be careful about.

Reinbach

Ah, good to know. She sure looked to be depicted younger than that in that cover where she was taking a selfie, which is what used for costume reference.

Reinbach

Hey thanks for the suggestions and for bringing me up to speed on the comics. That's two requests for Stargirl now. I've never heard of her myself, seems as though I should look her up.

Cassandra Cain is still my favourite Batgirl. She had an amazing backstory, a do-or-die resilience to beat the Bat himself, and her and Spoiler were just fucking adorable together.

Reinbach

I think I'm familiar with her. She was the one from No Man's Land right? The one that didn't talk? It's been a long time since I read that one.
