Long-time supporters already know I take a week off from the comic once in the summer and once in the winter, while still maintaining Patreon rewards like the Monday pin up. But this still may seem a bit out of the blue because I usually mention it sooner in the week leading up to my announcement. Unfortunately, circumstance didn't give me that luxury this time.

Long story short while I was working tonight my drawing tablet started getting glitchy and unresponsive. In the past this has meant it's time to get a new tablet and hopefully that's all I need to do now. Anyhow I've got a new one on the way. If it shows up Saturday like it's supposed to there'd be no problem. But if it's later than promised (as my Amazon packages often are) it won't be here until the middle of Monday. And at that point there is indeed a problem, I'd be hopelessly behind schedule for the week.

So I'm taking my vacation a week earlier than I planned as a precaution against having to stress and rush in a worst case scenario. Ideally I wouldn't have left off on such a transitional page of Switch but that's just the way it goes sometimes. Maybe this was fate's way of telling me I've been hitting it too hard and I should just take a break and try that new Xenoblade game. Anyhow I've still got some sketches to post over the weekend, and if you have any questions you know where to find me.

OK, dude- have fun! I'll think of this as a dramatic teaser for what Casey's revelation will be! I can't speak for everyone, but I'll happily wait on the waiting list for however long it'll be. Stuff like this is why I'm glad I stuck with pencil & paper- no chance of my pencil glitching out and requiring a pricey replacement! Of course, the "undo" function is a bitch.

Have a great vacation and enjoy the down time!

I'd say the pros of digital still outweigh the cons by a mile though. I'd run out of characters if I went on to describe all the ways I think it beats drawing on paper. But there are two upsides to drawing physically: the materials cost a lot less and you have originals to sell, which must be nice.

Enjoy your vacation, man. Seems like you draw nonstop, you definitely deserve a break.

Thanks! I look forward to a day when I can whittle it down to a six-day work week. It's plausible in theory. XD
