i don't get the need to compare when they're not even the same genre. you can find one more enjoyable than the other but the constant comparisons...

Interesting how you took the mom's comments about wrinkles etc. I took it as her saying that she stopped being a woman in her husband's eyes, he stopped looking at her the way he used to, eventually stopped loving her as well, and just saw the mother of his child in her. And she didn't want that to define her. Edit: the mom also just feels like a very rational, career-oriented person and hoping for success for her daughter in a professional way. She's just saying that at 20 (Korean age, which is basically 18 or 19 years old in global age) you're not going to find the love of your life and you should not invest your time and efforts in that, it'd be a waste. My understanding of the little mom-daughter conversation :)
