Shrek Forever After, the story picks up with Shrek (voiced by Mike Myers) feeling bogged down by the monotony of domestic life and yearning for the days when he was a feared ogre. In a moment of frustration, Shrek makes a deal with the crafty Rumpelstiltskin (voiced by Walt Dohrn), unwittingly trading a day from his past for a day of freedom. However, this seemingly innocuous deal results in an alternate reality where Shrek never existed, and the consequences are far-reaching.

The voice cast, including Cameron Diaz as Princess Fiona, Eddie Murphy as Donkey, Walt Dohrn as  Rumpelstiltskin, and Antonio Banderas as Puss in Boots, continues to bring charm and humor to their roles. Adding new characters, such as the rebellious ogres led by Fiona in this altered reality, injects freshness into the story.

Visually, the film maintains the high standards set by its predecessors, with vibrant animation and imaginative character designs. While not as consistently hilarious as in the earlier films, the comedic elements still elicit laughs, especially through the witty dialogue and clever references. Looking forward to Shrek 5... hopefully :) But, first... Puss In Boots.

I've been waiting for this one. Thank you guys!

Shrek has a really good on stage musical adaptation with some great songs you should check out if you want. I love musical theatre and some of my favourite songs come from Shrek: who I’d be, don’t let me go, story of my life, donkey pot pie. Honestly it’s great😂

Yay! Now I can't wait for Puss in Boots~♡

seeing as you mentioned Coming to America you should react to Coming 2 America it's the sequel

I love how each Shrek movie is consistently about a different relationship stage. The First is about finding your love and confession. The Second is about beginning a family life, compromises for each other, meeting with parents, etc. The Third is about accepting the responsibility of parenthood. The Fourth is about challenges of the mature step of parent's life, nostalgia for bachelor times and appreciating the changes that your new family brings into your life.

I'm so happy you guys liked this movie! It's definitely close to the second one for me, I just absolutely love the story and how we revisit most of the past 3 movies (like visiting Fionas castle again etc.) I'll never understand why people dislike it so much but yea, happy you guys enjoyed it as much!☺️

Alanna Meyers

Shrek 4 is amazing. Just finished watching this with you guys. I really hope there is a Shrek 5 but if they end it here, it’s a perfect ending. 💚

The True Love's Kiss was the 'exit clause', meaning that it would terminate the contract. So either Shrek would succeed and his life would go back to normal or he would fail and disappear. I don't think there was a possible timeline where the contract would become his life from then on.

While this one wasn't bad, it's still my least favorite. The plus is that it was still funny and I love the "Do the roar" kid as well as Gingie's scenes. But all in all, this is just a one time watch (now two times) just because it's part of the series. I liked 3 far better but could have done without Artie. I'm so excited you are finally getting to Puss in Boots! I've been waiting since Shrek was announced!

I just watched this for the first time with you guys and had so much fun with it. I agree, this one was much better than the last. My all-time favorite movie is It’s a Wonderful Life so it makes sense I loved this. It was cool to see a different side of Fiona. And this one actually made me tear up twice! A great story. Also Mason and I made the same Cinderella song joke, which is why I love you all so much. We all get the same references!!! 🙌

I don't agree with the critics at all on this one. I'm with you guys, I love this film and it was an awesome finale

Donna Castellano

Honestly, Rumplestilskin is my favorite villain in these films. It's just wild how the guy who voices him ended up with the job.

Conor Moriarty

Mason Quinn mentioned Cinderella. The 2015 live action Cinderella is in my opinion the only live action disney remake that is worth watching. Hope you give it a shot someday!

Looking forward to Puss in Boots. The second movie is great
