Do we even know for sure that a director's cut is actually coming, or is everyone just assuming?

so what im hearing is snyder made another bad movie. the Lord of the Rings extended cuts are better but the theatricals still are incredible movies, why cant snyder make a good theatrical movie. and if you ask me his extended cuts are disasters too i would just skip it at this point
