I'm gonna say ONE THING about Colosseum and its CGI, since you guys brought it up: The CGI Colosseum in this film is bigger than the real-life structure, with one extra "level" added to it. They knew how big the real structure was (Despite the artistic liberties taken for the sake of drama, they were very well informed as to the real-life history of the era) but felt that the model didn't look big enough compared to what the modern audience expected it to look like. Because we're used to giant stadiums and skyscrapers already. So they pumped it up so that it would look as impressive to us as it did to the people back then.

I love this film. Top 5 for me and the end gets to me every time. I’ve also seen it play with a live orchestra playing the score and that’s an incredible experience. The way they managed to use CGI to give Oliver Reed’s character a conclusion after he died during filming was lovely too.
