Marvel's masterpiece of creativity shines unapologetically in "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," leaving an indelible mark that even Marvel themselves can't claim credit for! This cinematic triumph is a glorious shower of joy, brilliance, and excellence, encompassing a mesmerizing two-hour experience. The musical undertones subtly tinged with anticipation and the mind-blowing animation immediately set the stage for an exhilarating journey. Every frame is a testament to the creators' dedication to creating an immersive adventure.

Great to see our character back on the screen again. Peter B. Parker's transformed personality with the introduction of Mayday adds depth, while Miles' growth and relatable struggles resonate profoundly. Gwen's narrative expansion and poignant struggles tied to Peter Parker's demise contribute to the film's emotional depth. The voice actors' dedication is palpable, with their performances infusing the characters with authenticity. Spot emerges as a standout villain, boasting an incredible design that rivals even the greatest in Marvel's rogues' gallery. Jason Schwartzman's portrayal is pitch-perfect, capturing the essence of a formidable antagonist.

The animation itself is a breathtaking masterpiece, showcasing a style that's both distinctive and unforgettable. Spot's unique hand-drawn animation sets him apart from the comic book-style characters, adding an extra layer of visual charm. Every Spider character boasts a distinctive art style. The animators seemed to ensureDD that each character stands out against the vibrant backgrounds, which are nothing short of spectacular. The film's scenery is so captivating that you could spend days focusing solely on the intricate details of each background.

While the plot might not be the centerpiece, the film compensates with a mesmerizing display of eye candy that captivates the senses. The producers' astute understanding of this strength results in a unique flair that transforms the entire viewing experience into a pure joyride. Such a fantastic film!

Do Not Talk About Fight Club

So happy Diamond Dave watched this one. Came out of the cinema months ago waiting to hear his opinion.

Re: the spider-sense and Miles' being invisible. Y'all have to remember that the Spidey-sense tingles to indicate danger. It's not a catch-all alert buzzer that goes off to indicate someone's presence nearby.

Ana

Yaaaay watching right now

ENJOYED THIS BEYOND BELIEF! so fun to re-watch it yet again w u guys :,)

n yes, while miles lost his uncle (someone important to him, a canon-event), the canon-event in this particular case is that spider-man also loses a police captain close them. hence why when gwen's dad quit his job, she was relieved as he was no longer destined to die, and why when miles' dad becomes captain "in 2 days" he's fated be killed, as is the canon :)

Yes! So happy Oak made it for this one and watched it with y'all. So sad I woke up late for this one so I really hope y'all see this comment. I am SO happy Answer caught onto that Miles ended up in the wrong dimension because of the DNA of the spider he was bitten by. A lot of people miss that extra detail on their first watch. Things I would like to point out that are usually missed on the first watch! SPOILER WARNING!!! In Spot's origin story we actually get to see the back of Earth-42 Miles's before he was about to get bit. You can tell by the two braids at the back of his head at 32:59. During Miguel's explanation of 'breaking the multiverse' we actually get to see that he transported to Peter B Parkers universe! You can tell by pausing at 1:30:38 followed by Miguel asking "Ain't that right Peter?" Miguel does not have a spidey-sense among a few other things. His transformation was a bit more organic; enhanced eyesight, talons on his hands and feet instead of being sticky, fangs with venom, organic webbing from his wrists. His suit is also holographic which allowed Miles to use his venom strike to make it malfunction! When Gwen is back in her own universe. You can see the box that Spider-Punk/Hobie left her on the shelf at 1:5506 One of the earliest hints that Miles does not go to back to 1610 is after his eye is scanned by the Go Home Machine the screen says Earth-42 which is where his spider came from. And one of the latest hints is that in Earth-1610 the hoodie he wears is red, in Earth-42 the hoodie is purple which hints at Prowler. This movie made me and I'm sure a lot of people go into a huge deep dive and a lot of pausing to catch every detail. There's still a ton more that I didn't mention, but that just goes to show much love to details was put into this movie. There's so much I could say about this movie but this comment would be long. Very happy all 4 of you enjoyed it! Fingers crossed Beyond the Spider-verse comes soon.

each universe has its own art style, gwen's one is the watercolor backgrounds that was very unique. pavitr's universe also had its own blobby kind of look

Such a good movie! I wish Sony was able to do other Marvel stuff, Disney has been so 50/50 on certain Marvel I.P. that I'm really questioning their higher up decisions... Also the VA for Gwen is the same as Vi, Hailee Steinfeld, such a good VA.

This movie is an artistic masterpiece, you can pause on so many frames and that in itself can be hung up in a gallery. This movie made me so excited, there are so many beautiful indie and student animated films that are unique and well crafted but we have never seen something like this done in the mainstream and to this degree. I hope this triggers a new era of animation, there have already been some films that have taken the Spiderverse approach but hopefully we get to see some of the many other beautiful art styles out there done justice like this. idk what the competition it but this deserves to win in every category it qualifies for, including best picture. Beauty and the Beast won Best Picture in 1991 and Toy Story 3 was nominated for Best Picture in 2011(another great film). I give this movie 9/5 answers, that is not a typo. Though I felt there were some odd tonal shifts when I saw this in the theater I didn't feel that way on this watch(this is my third watch btw), sometimes who you watch a movie with changes your take. Theres some bad political msgs obscurely thrown in, but If not pointed out most people wouldn't notice. The lego scene was animated by a 14 year old kid who posted a lego version of the trailer online and the producers saw it and brought him on, super amazing!

Some people have predicted that Earth-42 Miles isn't a villain but like Mason Quinn said he is a vigilante. I think Miles 42 was suppose to be spiderman in that dimension, it looked like the spider was in the same room with him probably about to bite him when the collider snatched it away. I heard Beyond the Spiderverse was suppose to be 2024 but with the strikes and all it'll be delayed, I think a lot of it was already written pre strike. The sinister six is also a cartel in Miles 42 dimension, so we might see some more baddies in #3.

This movie truly felt like a love letter to animation and Spider-Man. Watching this in the movie theater was pure eye candy. I've been in love with art and animation since I couldn't even say my first word and this film, as well as Arcane, was so beautifully done. Their attention to detail was stunning as well. I questioned myself near the end after Miles put on his jacket. I noticed it was purple, not red. I thought it was just the palette choice of that scene because of the artistic and comic-like style they've been doing throughout the film, but turns out it actually meant something VERY important. I definitely will not be second guessing myself in the next film with such details! I also did not expect myself and my boyfriend to cry barely an hour into the film. This hit all the marks; emotional, comedic, artistic, soundtrack, drama, action. I only wish we got more of it cause if we had I wouldn't have minded another hour of this film. The looks I noticed in the theater when we all realized the movie was over was unbelievable. We did not want this film to end. Btw an added bonus because details like this are so fun to share! In the first film all of the Spider-People except Miles were animated on 1's. Miles was animated on 2's which visually showed his inexperience compared to the others at least until near the end of the film where he 'becomes' Spider-Man which by then he is animated on 1's. Hobie Brown AKA Spider-Punk took THREE YEARS to animate! He was animated on 3's and his guitar was animated on 4's. He doesn't believe in consistency so his animation style always changes! The animation supervisor even had a set of rules when it came to his animation; body on 3's, offset the vest on 3's but delayed by a frame or two, guitar on 4's, outline on 2's when moving, and cutout around the guitar. BUT they broke these rules when needed which is consistent with his character. If you don't know what animating on 1's means it basically means a new pose every 1 frame. If you want more details on this type of animation, I highly recommend Insider's "How 'Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse' Was Animated"

Haven't seen anyone else answer these questions for you guys, so here ya go: 1. The reason Miles' invisibility doesn't trigger spider-sense is because spider-sense is usually only triggered by danger. When he's just hiding, there's no danger. If he were to attack from stealth then it should/would trigger, except for Miguel because he doesn't have the sense at all. 2. Uncle Aaron dying only covers one canon event (death of a loved one that initially motivates Spider-Man/Woman). The canon event Miles is trying to stop here is the death of a police captain who's close to Spider-Man. It just so happens that in this specific instance, the captain is his dad. But for Peter Parker it's usually captain Stacy (Gwen's dad) who dies, and for Pavitr (Spider-Man India) it was capitain Singh Hope that helps :)

This was great. Loved the reaction, but i hope you guys stop doing trailer viewing before hand. you were letting it shape your view of where things were going.

Justin Robertson

Yeah. Trailer reactions get a lot of views and don't take nearly much editing or watching hours.

It wasn't Hobie's watch that Gwen got at the end (not the one Miguel made), Hobie left his watch at HQ when he quit. Remember when he told Miles to create his own watch and was stealing stuff at HQ, he created his own watch, you can tell he made it cause the portal looks like it comes from Hobie's world instead of Miguel's world.

Brittany McGee

Not sure if anyone mentioned this, but Donald Glover played Aaron in Homecoming. He told Peter he had a nephew that lived in the neighborhood. So, it implies Miles exists in the MCU
