The return of Michael Keaton as Batman was an exciting moment for many, but it's unfortunate that the potential of this opportunity wasn't fully realized. The film held a wealth of promise with its multiverse narrative, following Barry's quest to rewrite his past. However, certain moments of CGI felt out of place, falling short of the high standard one would expect from such a production. The portrayal of the youthful 18-year-old Barry, while undoubtedly meant to be distinctive, occasionally came across as rather bothersome, particularly his laughter.

On a positive note, the film effectively tugged at our nostalgia by reintroducing Keaton's Batman, complete with the iconic batcave, batmobile, and familiar computer setup. These elements successfully tapped into the enchantment of the early 90s. Ben Affleck's reprisal of Batman was a welcome sight, and the well-executed surprises sprinkled throughout the movie added to its appeal. Given the current state of the DC universe, it's a bit challenging to pinpoint where this film fits in. We hope the James Gunn reboot will be a positive one.

All in all, the dedication of the cast and crew deserves recognition, even if the movie doesn't necessarily demand immediate viewing. Skipping it wouldn't necessarily leave you feeling like you've missed out on a significant piece of the puzzle given the current state of the DC universe, it's a bit challenging to pinpoint where this film fits in. We hope the James Gunn reboot will be a positive one.

I was fortunate enough to see this movie twice before its public release. During my first screening, the ending featured Sasha Calle and Keaton in the court scene, but they ultimately went with the second test featuring George Clooney.
