This movie was an absolute blast and a delightful surprise! In our view, it's underrated and deserves more recognition. Set in a near-future world where human boxing is replaced by colossal fighting robots. Enter Charlie Kenton, a down-on-his-luck former boxer turned robot fight promoter, brilliantly portrayed by Hugh Jackman. With his cocky swagger and never-give-up attitude, Charlie is the ultimate underdog you can't help but root for. When he stumbles upon a discarded sparring robot and discovers its hidden potential, he sees a shot at redemption and the chance to reconnect with the son (Dakota Goyo) he barely knows. Together, they train their robot, Atom, an outdated yet fiercely determined machine with an endearing "never say die" spirit.

The robot fights were fun, showcasing pretty good CGI. The excitement is infectious as Atom faces off against towering opponents, proving that size doesn't always matter when you have the heart of a champion. But Real Steel is not just about metal-on-metal action. It has a beating heart at its core. The relationship between Charlie and Max evolves from distant and strained to a bond forged in the heat of the robot arena. The film explores themes of family, second chances, and the power of determination, leaving a lasting impression that transcends the spectacle of the robot battles.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, with standout performances from Dakota Goyo as Max, Evangeline Lilly as Bailey, Charlie's tough yet caring friend, and Anthony Mackie as Finn, a rival promoter who adds extra spice to the mix. Cast and crew did great. We might have to check the behind the scenes/making of this one! Highly recommend this film to all. Thanks to all that recommended this one.

Instant Family may be worth a look see* rarely do adoption movies have such a cast and respect the scenarios (more or less). Plus having your mentalities view of it would be very enticing. as an adoptee i can say its one of the more in tune ones considering movies usually apply adoption for things like in Avengers. Thor: "he's adopted". Puss n Boots: Win the adoption lottery... and so on. You guys are awesome and seeing so much variety here is outstanding! ^(no ill will intended by this)^

In Germany on Amazon prime they only have the movie in German 🙄 🤬

I love this movie so much. This is one where no matter how many times I watch it, I still get so hyped for that last fight. Oak's whole reaction to the last bit of the movie is pretty much me every time I watch it haha. It's just so fun. Random fun fact: the kid that played Max played young Thor in the first Thor movie. Also, not sure who all has/hasn't seen them but since you liked this I would recommend Pacific Rim and Chappie. Two other fun robot movies.

Love to see you guys watch “Southpaw” if you haven’t seen it yet!

You guys were able to rent it on Amazon Prime? They must have just removed it for rent because the only option it is giving me right now is to buy it for $20.99.

When Charlie is smiling outside the ring while fighting gives me goosebumps every time. I recommend Tron Legacy if you haven't seen it.

It was awesome watching ya'll enjoy this one. I love how much they reaaaaaaallly make Charlie to be unlikable in this one. It's so hard to root for the guy, but that's what makes that redemption ark work so well. With regards to Atom, I think they leave the question open as to whether there's anything deeper to Atom than just what we know, but I think that all of that is really just a metaphor for the bond between Max and Charlie. The shadow mode interactions they have with Atom act kind of like the projecting what they want from each other onto Atom. Max wants someone to spend time with and bond with, and that's what we see him using Atom's shadow mode for. Charlie wants to regain that success that he had when he was younger and he also starts wanting to have a better relationship with his son, and that's what we see reflected in the shadow mode at the end of the movie. Also,Max was such a standout in this movie. Occasionally you get some really great child actors, but this kid is on another level. He's just so sassy and self confident throughout the whole movie.

I remember really enjoying this movie when it first came out and it was awesome to re-experience it with you guys! It was super fun seeing how invested and hyped Oak got! 😂 Glad you guys had a great time with the movie! The mention of the Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots reminded me of another movie inspired from toys that I think would be a fun and ridiculous watch for you guys, Battleship! There was mostly a mixed reception about the film, but I think it'd just be an entertaining watch for ya'll. :) Anyway, this movie is a real gem and wholesome. Really entertaining seeing a different side of Hugh Jackman esp for most of the movie. Max's actor was also great, loved his sass and confidence really shining through. Anthony Mackie also had some fun moments to shine, and his mocking "homie" always gets a good laugh out of me. 😂 Another Hugh Jackman movie that I think would be a good watch for you guys would be The Greatest Showman!

its an alternate future where Wolverine and The Wasp opened a gym and did robot boxing (: I really liked this film. There's nothing like watching robot boxing! Oh! The Falcon is their bookie xD

This is just a good underrated film, I loved watching it with you. As good as it was back then! I don't know why it reminded me of this, but you should react to Edge of Tomorrow with Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt :)
