This episode was absolutely captivating! The final 20 minutes were particularly intense, drawing us in completely. The conversation between Father Paul and Riley was incredibly relatable, touching on themes that resonate with many. The exchange between them was undeniably powerful. Furthermore, we witness Riley's mother experiencing improved eyesight and Leeza miraculously regaining the ability to walk. It leaves us wondering about the mysterious powers that Father Paul possesses, enabling him to bring about these transformations. The scene with the dog was truly heart-wrenching, evoking strong emotions. Bev's character was expertly crafted to make us strongly dislike her. Anticipation for the next episode is building, eager to see what unfolds next.

Leeza standing up and walking is the best part of this episode and it never fails to make me cry. Pike being poisoned by Bev also makes me cry everytime, out of anger towards Bev and empathy towards Joe, no one deserves to lose an animal like that and no animal (especially ones who's done no harm) deserves to be killed like that. It hits home with me because when I was about 3-4, I had an American Eskimo and one day I was at kindergarten and she had gotten into our barn and got into a can of rat poisoning and I came home to my grandmother telling me she was dead. We ended up burying her in our backyard under a area of pine trees. If I remember the next episode correctly, I can not wait to see your reaction to a certain part 😬👀 iykyk. Can't wait you guys, and like always (even though you said you'd look into it lol) I have to recommend The Midnight Club after this, just to keep it fresh in the noggin 😉🤣 Loving the reactions, you guys are great! 🤘🏻🖤

Bev is a piece of work just like Umbridge lol. It so fun to watch this with you guys. This series is a slow burn at first but its so great. The soundtrack adds to the creepiness and the cinematography and dialogue pull you right in. Can’t wait to see what you think of the rest of it. Im a recovering addict and what Riley said in the meeting really resonated with me. Oh yeah, the sherif was there when Bev was complaining about pike. I had to walk away when you guys watched that part, it’s so sad. I’m looking forward to next week!

Woohoo! I had a feeling this would be your favorite. It's going to keep escalating, prepare yourself!!!! Just a tip -- when the characters have long dialogues with another character, keep the overall message in mind - there is ALOT of circling back to earlier themes/beliefs of characters in later episodes. I agree, Father Paul is probably my favorite character of Mike Flanagan's series.. written so beautifully nuanced and acted impeccably. Also, shout out to Oak for picking up one theme so far! The contrast in the religious practice of condemning Bev vs hopeful and giving Father Paul. It's really interesting to see the show's portrayal of religion and faith and how it can be used well or abused. Cheers, can't wait til next week!!

Bev was talking to Joe and the Sheriff when she said the dog was a menace in episode 1.

Ekk

Fantastic to see the second studio has a desk now and yall can more comfortably write notes. In the first episode I started to think the old monsignor and the new one were the same person. He knew too many people based on descriptions given to him supposedly from an old sick man with dementia. In this episode the doctor said the old monsignor was there since before she was born so no one would remember what he looked like as a young man besides someone old like her mom that called him John. And the doctor said the old one would stare at her the same way. I am so glad I am not the only one to think it.

Don't think you guys caught it, but the actress who plays Bev was in Hill House, she was Steve's wife lol COMPLETELY different performance.

your reaction to the priest is so funny to me - i first saw hamish linklater on another show where he (convincingly) played a serial rapist, so i had trouble trusting his character on this show.
