What a fantastic film! Sure, some can nit pick with a few things in this film, but over all this film was loaded with action and didn't disappoint. John Wick Chapter 4 sets a new standard for action filmmaking, delivering expertly choreographed sequences thanks to director Chad Stahelski and Keanu Reeves' technical knowledge. It combines the beloved elements of the franchise with a fresh infusion of creativity.

The cinematography is deserving of an Oscar, showcasing the neo-noir genre in its finest form with bold and vibrant colors that make each scene visually striking. The vibrant colors and diverse settings create a feast for the eyes, providing a captivating backdrop for the action and dialogue. The sound design perfectly complements the intensity, immersing viewers in a sensory journey rarely seen in action films outside of the John Wick franchise.

The ensemble cast shines, with each member deserving of their own spin-off films. Donnie Yen delivers exceptional fights, reaffirming his status as a legend in the industry. Hiroyuki Sanada and Scott Adkins (FANTASTIC work by Scott) make highly anticipated appearances, showcasing their mastery of the craft. Bill Skarsgard portrays a menacing villain, while Shamier Anderson and Rina Sawayama leave a lasting impression. Ian McShane crushes it as always as Winston. And great to see Lance Reddick (Rest easy sir.)

Chad Stahelski pulls no punches, delivering an epic gun-fu experience where combat scenes feel like entire acts. The level of stunt coordination is incredible, continuously finding new ways to entertain with a variety of kills, weapons, locations, and teamwork. The fight scenes are precise, creative, and range from hand-to-hand combat to gunfights to car chases. Reeves performs most of his stunts, employing various styles and weapons, including nunchucks, Judo, and jujitsu. The cinematography captures the gritty and stylish aesthetic, while the musical score heightens the adrenaline and enhances the mood and tension.

This franchise is truly remarkable! A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for delivering four fantastic films.

This was a great movie! I loved how you showed up to watch it and your enthusiasm for it was contagious. I actually watched this with hubbie on Tuesday night, and then your reaction dropped on Wednesday so I did a little rewatch party of my own with you guys, and it was so fun to catch some things I'd missed the first time around. :) Regarding the lighting, I saw someone say somewhere (regarding previous films in the franchise) that if John was lit in red shades, it implied danger; blue shades implied safety. That made me think about the purple shades used in this one -- that John is always in a more liminal space in Chapter 4, because he's constantly moving in and out of threats, more so than in previous films. Just me thinking out loud, there. Also, the Tracker's dog is a Belgian Malinois -- the same breed as used by Halle Berry's character (Sofia) in Parabellum. This makes me wonder whether that dog came from that same training and therefore did the Tracker know Sofia...? That's an interesting nugget to me. And I loved the Dragon's Breath ammo; I'd love those in a video game. Loved seeing the late, great Lance Reddick again (Charon is my favourite character in the franchise), and how his arc was more poignant now. Ian McShane stole this movie for me, though -- especially his line, "You arrogant asshole....". As for John's fate... "Who knows?" ;) Thanks for all the superb reactions, guys. You're killin' it at the moment! :)

I was also curious what the Latin words on the steps translated to when John met Winston after Osaka. Seems they can be interpreted in a few ways. First few steps said "If I cannot bend the heavens, then I shall move the powers of hell." Next few said "Let them hate, so long as they Fear". Then "Death is my Reward" and lastly "Live so that your life will be approved after your death". Now if that ain't some foreshadowing

Yes, Quinn those steps had great meaning in JW#4, Here’s what some of the messages on the steps leading to Charon’s grave said along with meanings…I did 3 for you: 1/3 - Flectere Si Nequeo Superos Acheronta Movebo is a quote from Virgil, 1st Century Roman poet…it means if I cannot deflect the superior powers, then I shall move the river Acheron or more commonly, “if I cannot move the Heaven’s, then I shall move the powers of hell” (Acheron is one of the rivers that led to the underworld in Greek mythology…of which “Charon was the boatman who ferried the dead into Hades)2/3 - “Oderint Dum Metuant means, “let them hate as long as they fear”, and finally, 3/3 - Te Futueo Et Caballum Tuum which means, “Screw you and the horse you rode in on”! So there you have it…I think they’re at least 6 or 7 but it was hard to capture them from the film and googling the steps to Charon’s grave on JW4 was a disaster! But you guys were right (Quinn) they have a direct connection to the meaning in our story…
