Its been a few years since I've watched this abomination I just wanted you all to know I love this channel so much I rented it just to cringe again with the boys. Honestly, it was a great laugh to hear your reactions at the end lmao.

My favorite part of the movie is when 5 earthbenders do a lil dance and a cgi rock slowly floats across the screen

Hey, if u want some highlights on the movie I suggest watching bloopers, lol if they just added the characteristics of Ang and Sokka where they joke around and mess around it would’ve been more bearable

Zack Sutton

Loved the reaction though it's hilarious

I dont know if someone already mentioned this fun fact but a well known thing about the casting for this movie is that the actress for Yue goes on to be the voice actress for a main character in The Legend of Korra! So if we got one thing from this movie, it's her!!!

Just for clarification....Aang did NOT transform into a giant ocean monster in the cartoon. The Ocean Spirit used Aang's avatar spirit to transform himself into a giant monster. Same as when Roku used Aang's body to channel himself and destroy the fire temple back in book 1 midseason episode "spirit world" other note: (whispers) "terrible movie..."

When this came out in cinema, I was very excited. I tried to give it a chance and while it was a bit boring, while the names were definitely annoying, I was hoping it would deliver something good. But I think the first time during the movie I started to dislike it was when I realised that Sokka wasn't being Sokka.

The oak: this is sparta! Owoowooowo 😂

I'm so bored that I had to stop watching with you guys. The stupidity couldn't even make me laugh; it was just plain awful. I'll try and force myself to finish it later because I want to see your reactions. 😭 I absolutely hate the casting. Irks me. But the mispronounced names makes me so irritated I want to cry.

Now you get the joke at the end of the Ember Island Players episode. They all talk about how much it sucks, but Sokka says "At least the graphics were good". That was a dig at this movie before it even came out b/c the creators already knew.

I never saw it. I knew it would be bad. First, sometimes animation is just simply the best medium for the type of content. Bending fits this need. Animation is going to allow much more creativity and at a lower cost compared to live action with CGI. Second, sometimes a limited series or tv series is needed to allow room for character development and side quests. I don't understand Hollywood's obsession with live action movies.

Are you guys going to react to legend of korra next??

TheHulsig

Stll better than the dragon ball live action one...

2023-04-23 02:39:50 I was super confused about the pronunciation of Avatar Aang, so I did some looking. Looks like Aang's full name is 安昂 ( confirmed to appear in the episode "Tales of Ba Sing Se" at 15:27 - in the screen "The Tale of Aang". ). The pronunciation can be heard here : 🟦 https://translate.google.ca/?sl=zh-TW&tl=en&text=安昂 🟦 ( Click the speaker button on the left side to hear the original pronuncation ). Usually the 1st character is the family name ( 安 ), and the second character is the given name ( 昂 ). But since Aang is extra special, his name might not adhere to usual conventions - and 安昂 could just be it's own special name for a special guy.

Maybe what happened was the series referred to Aang by his family name ( the 1st character's sound ), and the movie maybe referred to him by his given name ( the 2nd character's sound ). But since Aang is extra special, his name might not adhere to usual conventions - and 安昂 could just be a unique name, Aang's own special name for being a special guy. UPDATE : I looked a bit more into this - apparently ( says Wikipedia ), buddhist monks are given special names, so maybe 安昂 is Aang's special buddhist monk name.

There's no mystery about what happened. Shyamalan insisted that the characters' names be pronounced correctly per their ethnic background. That's the thing that people miss. It's the cartoon that got the pronunciations wrong, insofar as not pronouncing the names as people from the actual real-world cultures presented by the series would. (The only thing that is weird about this is that Shyamalan was so damned insistent on proper ethnic pronunciation of names but failed so spectacularly at proper ethnic casting).
