Honestly, the back stories of every one of the Cullens (including Edward) are so, so, so much more interesting than anything that happens in any of these movies it's ridiculous. The fact that the wolves and vampires would all go to battle against all comers for five movies to protect a sentient piece of cardboard (albeit a very attractive one -- and to be clear, this isn't a knock on Stewart, who is a good actress, just the character) is bonkers.

only Cullen's one? I think you can say that every vampire had a better backstory than Bella.. I mean, even Volturi! have you ever read Jane backstory for exemple? it's amazing! Sad of course, but a lot more interesting than Bella xD

I was a teen when I saw these in theatre and had gotten to read the books before the movies came out, except the 1st one I went in blind. I liked it mainly because of the aesthetic and music, but as a young teenage girl with daddy issues the red flags mostly flew over my head. Now as a much wiser adult, I mostly just think it’s laughably bad, “cringy” and great at the same time. But because I lived through the height of it and also drove thru forks and saw the house it was being filmed in as a teenager, it’s just super nostalgic and comforting because it reflects that time of travel for me which I loved.
