Yea I understand there is a way to do it but it's more annoying that way you record post raw on patreon and edit like you do for youtube, that's how I've seen a few other people do it but again it's the annoying way. But gl to you guys happy reactions

Yeah, it's 100% illegal. I know a few others that lost their Patreon & YT channels because they show it all. You are right, People do it, but it's just a matter of time before they lose everything.

Yeah, I mean I would love unedited reactions, too, but when you see people doing it, it only means that they're breaking the law either because they don't think the rules apply to them or they genuinely don't understand that they *are* infringing on copyright. It has nothing to do with it being more annoying.

Shortly after I realized that the majority of the animals in Airbender are chimeras of random animals, I took to calling Appa a bison-beaver (or that one time I got my tongue tied in a knot and called him a biver-beason, which my friends refuse to let me live down), because that is 100% a goddamn beaver's tail. So whenever it was, one of these early episodes from Book 1, that one of y'all said something about Appa's beaver tail, I have never been more ridiculously ecstatic. I'm not the only one who sees it! That's a beaver's tail if ever there was one!

I don't think I believe that. In EVERY animal hybrid in the show, you can literally SEE both animals that make up the chimera. But there's nothing whatsoever in Appa that suggests he is part manatee - and this is further evident in the fact he's called a sky bison, and not a bison manatee. Every other such hybrid is literally called a turtle duck, or platypus bear, or ostrich horse, etc.

Guys... I am working. Y'all are going to get me in trouble by dropping this in the morning, lmao. You guys are gonna have so much fun. I will say that the animation does indeed get better and just like Harry Potter (imo), you may have to get through some episodes where it is very "kiddish". However, the "good" of this show FAR outweighs the negative.

I feel the need to reiterate that since you’re watching this for the first time as adults, you have to be patient during the first season bc it has more kiddish (Nickelodeon) episodes, but I promise it matures and gets so good.

I had a feeling it'd be a bit of a slow start especially for Oak. You guys will definitely get into it eventually though. I'd suggest thinking of the first season kind of like the first couple Harry Potter movies, lot of world building, more on the kid side, better in hindsight.

Im happy you guys looking at it with an open mind. The animation gets really good. I think it already looks really good in these first two episodes. Handdrawn animation that is made with love, passion and believe in the story, is beautiful. It is a binge worthy show indeed. BUT, im happy you do it this way. If you have to wait for the next episodes, you will be more involved with the story. You will have a better understanding of the story, characters and when you get really into it, you get very excited when its time to watch the next episode. Im happy im able to follow your Avatar journey.

Brushed up on my ATLA knowledge for this comment, haha! Yes, it is a Nickelodeon original, the show is the original source material itself. However, there have been many comic and graphic novel continuations of the story! Additionally, there’s also the sequel TV series The Legend of Korra with its own 4 seasons and graphic novel continuations!! 😁🤘🏼

Absolutely excited to see ya'll go through this series. As others have said the animation does improve, though it will continue to be hand drawn 2d animation vs the more modern digital 3d style. The patron player works great, especially on mobile with the built in PiP. It's going to be agonizing waiting for you guys to drop new episodes now, but I can't wait to see your journey with this one.

Answer, who is your favorite character that hasn’t appeared yet? Another trivia besides the voice of the uncle, the actor who did the voice of Prince Zuko also played Rufio in the 1991 movie Hook. And later when we see his dad, Fire Lord Ozai was voiced by Luke Skywalker himself Mark Hamill. 😎

Also, not all people in the ATLA universe have vending abilities! Sokka isn’t a water bender and, similarly, not all people in the fire nation can fire bend, you’re just born with the ability! 🙂

Oh! The Patreon video experience isn't bad. The issues I had syncing were moreso following if y'all were skipping recaps or not. Personally, I prefer YouTube, but I'm also a bit biased since that's where I consume most of my entertainment to watch things.

So happy you are doing this series and Answer was interested in watching it again. I like that you have someone there that's seen it before to give some more insight in real time. And a fun fact I thought you guys may appreciate- each style of bending is based on a real martial art (some have more than one). Martial artists where consulted and even recorded for the animation references. So none of the main moves are fabricated and each style is distinctly different. Airbending: Baguazhang (circle walking) Firebending: Northern Shaolin style (shaolinquan) Waterbending: T'ai Chi Earthbending: Hung Gar style of kung fu There's some cool behind the scenes videos on youtube that show the martial artist talking about each inspiration and demonstrating it next to the animation. I thought it was a super smart way of grounding the action for this series and giving each bending a different look. I'm so excited to go on this journey with you for a rewatch!

So happy you're doing this show! Personally I definitely think it starts off more "kiddish" and gets more adult in nature as you go on, even halfway through season 1. An important thing to remember is this show was made so that kids could jump right into it without seeing other episodes and so it's a little more episodic in nature. But I cannot wait for you to see the journey our characters go on, the amazing development that they have, the awesome action, soundtrack, creatures, and the visuals definitely improve down the road as well. They didn't know if this show was going to be a hit so it started off a little smaller but by the end it's an epic and one of my favorite stories of all time.

Funfact Aang doesn't need a warm outfit because his bending allows him to heat the air around him. Also in defense of the Fire Navy soldiers that Aang absolutely clowns, no one has seen an airbender in 100 years, that means no one has any idea how to defend against one.

I just joined from seeing the cut versions on youtube. Last time I subbed to a patreon watching was two young Bosnian women at my age a couple years ago. I always welcome a watch-along play through of the show :), Actually this is the first time I've actually "watched along" .. I like it so far... and it helps me rewatch an amazing series from start to finish. :)

I wonder if it was intentional that the first episode also had Aang pretending to be a penguin. The voice actor for Aang also played Pablo the Penguin on the Backyardigans kids tv show 🤣
