i am never ready for this drop. Thank you for this journey!

e

damn it! i’m gettin ready for work😭

Mika Dawn

To clarify it is not everything starting over, its symbolizing a new beginning. Ymir, desperate, running away, wishing for a stronger self, got the power of the titans to keep her alive. This kid, willingly, peacefully, going into the tree with his dog, symbolizing a new, more peaceful beginning

Magda Ch

I'm gonna cry :'( I'm at work and I don't care, I'm going to watch this right now! haha, and YES! please! we need that live round table! hope besides de musical suite you can do the reaction to all intros and endings please! There are so much content that you can still do about AoT so you can makes all us happy hehe

- Eren wanted Armin and Mikasa to be looked at as heros of the world for stopping the rumbling. So that even after he passes they will be safe - Zeke's plan of sterilization went against Eren's hope for his friend's happiness and freedom. Something he wanted for them dearly. He felt it was unfair that the world gets to live on but his love ones pay the price - Falco was able to form wings because he had Zeke's spinal fluid in him. Falco has a combination of the Jaw and Beast Titan spinal fluid (as well as Zeke's royal blood) inside him that helped him transform himself to what he needed - Eren can't alter Mikasa's memories (because of her Ackerman genes) so the time he spent with her in the cabin for his last 4 years of life was shown to her right before he was beheaded. He created an alternate reality where they run away together after the time he asked Mikasa, "What am I to you?" He was able to do this through "the paths" since time moves differently there.  In the end, Eren spent his final years with Mikasa For everyone else (like Armin) he had conversations with them individually but erased their memory of it so they would remember only after he dies - If Eren did run away with Mikasa it wouldn't have changed anything because once Eren passed away after spending his last 4 years with her Marley and the world would have still invaded Paradis island. Most likely leaving Mikasa and Armin in danger, which Eren wouldn't have wanted - The ending showing what happens in the far future was to show that even without titans roaming the earth... war never changes and humanity's need for conflict will always exist. Eren only cared about the life he was giving to Mikasa, Armin and his friends in their lifetime. All that mattered was that his friends died in a time of peace. What the future was beyond that meant nothing to him Something to know about the anime production:  - Both of Mikasa's English & Japanese voice actors cried in the studio saying their last lines - Both Eren & Mikasa's voice actors sang the ending song together After many years of watching.. I am still wrecked from it ending. It is by far the most impactful anime I have ever seen. One story that will always stay with you. Thank you for watching Attack on Titan~

What a journey, thank you all badd medicine and everyone here, dedicate your heart 🪽❤️

Magda Ch

And look at you guys rocking those AoT jackets and shirts! You look great! It was about time you dressed like that! :D :D

Hafsah Ahmed

can't wait to finish work and tune in to the finale of possibly one of the greatest peices of fiction of all time! your AoT reactions introduced me to you guys and made me sign up for your patreon, it has been such a treat to watch this and other reactions alongside you guys, I love that we can grow a community from the films and TV shows we love! Although AoT is an almost tiresome journey by the end of it, its goddamn masterful and the detail incomparable 💛💛💛 much love, peace out ✌️

Tommy

Major highlight of my Monday's was watching you guys. I am gonna miss this and looking forward to more awesome content ❤️

Al

So excited to watch this but feels bittersweet that it is finished. At least we have death note to look forward to which is a great anime as well.

L JF

this is so bittersweet 😭 thank you badd medicine for giving us great reactions to this series. i’ll appreciate your cliffhanger reactions most of all 🤣 ❤️

Alex Michael Christensen

Holy shit how did I miss the notification, here we go I’m so excited!!!

Zimm

A huge thanks to Badd Medicine for reacting to this masterpiece. One of the greatest tv series ever. “I’ll see you later, Eren.”🥹

Destini

Welcome to the end

Ella

Thank you guys for doing this one! What an epic watch through!

Clorox bleach G

It’s strongly implied that everything COULD start over. Erens head might have traces of that source of life and therefore his head buried at the base of the tree grew into another one of those big trees. I personally think yes, everything starts again

Alexiani Gollarza

Oh my Lord, I'm two minutes from watching this and my heart is pumping!!! Ahhhh! I know you already know but man, this ending still hurts 😭😭

Alexiani Gollarza

I just started and I loooove the outfits!! Also MQ, I know what you can do, you can rewatch the whole thing xD it'll be like watching it for the first time with how many things you'll notice, Oh man, I will try not to commet every two seconds lol

Jon

I started watching AoT back in 2013 when Season 1 was released. It took years for the anime to be released and I'm glad they took their time with it because it is a masterpiece! AoT with it's cliffhangers and the way it keeps you on edge was too unbearable for me to wait for it to finish (2023), so I read the manga 🥲 AoT with it's amazing storytelling might be the only show where I wished I would have waited for the anime but waiting 10 years was too long for me 🤣

Wonderxfull

I loved this journey. Thank you for watching. Would really enjoy seeing a reaction for the openings and endings with their lyrics, including that very last song. Every song and the animations for each had deep meaning for the story. I am sure by now you know that though haha.

I'm Batman

Cried a few times rewatching this episode. And yes I'd be down to see y'all go live discussing this show. Years and years and years with this series, just bittersweet it's ended. Awesome reaction to the series guys, looking forward to y'all's Death Note reaction!

Kaitlyn Twix

A live stream or something to discuss the show would be fantastic! It took me a while to fully unpack everything and process the ending/catch all of the foreshadowing, and a discussion would be a perfect way to really pull together your guys' completion of the show!

Isabel Schertel

Woah I can't believe Mason Quinn changed his white T-shirt for another white graphic T-shirt! That's a character arc! Haven't watched it yet, but thank you guys so much for taking us on this journey with you. You are the best reaction channel 🥰

Rex Tan

Just wanted to put it out there, if you guys haven't noticed, since S1 episode 1 it has been Armin's voice narrating the whole story, telling the world of what happened from his point of view. (The only episode where Armin wasn't narrating was when he was burnt to a crisp by Bertholdt :D)

what i thought first time watching it: that ending leaves a lot of options for a future Netflix Live Action haha. Looking at one piece, it seems they know how big a franchise AoT is, I think they gonna do something with it in the future

Nate

ENDING EXPLAINED FOR BADD + FIRST TIME WATCHERS: Many people think that Eren became a villain to save his people/for revenge, make his friends become heroes, or think he was just an idiot who became obsessed with power, but these are NOT the main explanations for the ending and his actions. One of the reasons why it's confusing is that Eren needed to believe/say this for the real story to play out, which is unfortunate because it causes confusion, but genius once you finally understand it. Eren and Mikasa were merely subjects for the greater force at hand, which was Ymir. This whole show is kind of like a bible story, not necessarily because of religious aspects, but because it tells a story of “early” humans, some with “magical” abilities, dealing with a godlike figure (Ymir). This whole show at its core, is a tale about Ymir and her 2000-year struggle for freedom. Eren and Mikasa happen to be perfect candidates for Ymir to finally break free. Eren was a slave to freedom and Mikasa was a slave to love, just like how Ymir was a slave of King Fritz while also being in love with him for millennia. Eren was always very extreme himself, as represented by the many flashbacks of young Eren brutally killing Mikasa’s kidnappers (not normal for a child to do), and Mikasa wondering if Eren was always this way. This is another point in why Ymir chose Eren, so that he may be able to commit the extreme actions of the rumbling in the future. These conditions were perfect for Ymir to “manipulate” Eren and OBSERVE Mikasa, as their actions are a reflection of Ymir’s potential. Simply put, Ymir needed proof from Eren and especially Mikasa, that she too could kill and let go of their enslavers and be free. This is why it was so important for everyone to have their free will in the end. Eren said to the crew in the paths, “you are free”, but he was especially talking to Mikasa. Eren knew from what Ymir told him that whatever Mikasa was going to do in the future was the most desirable outcome that he should move to (as revealed in the Armin&Eren memory scene). This was also a convenient cover for Ymir to guide Eren and everyone else, because Mikasa killing Eren was the ultimate proof that she needed to be free. There was a reason why they showed Ymir smiling and observing behind Eren and Mikasa when she killed him. That was the moment Ymir had been yearning for. Ironically, Eren was enslaved by Ymir and did everything he could to finally get her to see if Mikasa could kill him. As Eren said himself, he was a slave to freedom from the very beginning to his death. If you connect Eren, Mikasa, and Ymir as reflections of each other, It makes sense that it took a staggering 80% of the world’s population to end a staggering 2000 years of love. After finally being set free, Ymir can die in peace, along with her titan creations and the paths. Eren becoming a villain so that enemies can come together and be heroes of the world was NOT THE PRIMARY GOAL, but more of a side-effect (even Armin said that's a ridiculous joke). If he was truly going for that, he would let them stop him way sooner and not kill almost all of the world (pretty bad heroes if you ask me). Ymir couldn’t care less about how the world ended up or unifying people together against a common enemy. She set up a scenario of world genocide, which is way worse than whatever benefits there may be for the world. Ethics was not the focus for her, but it was for the crew which she took advantage of to achieve her goal. I just wanted to offer some additional perspectives for anyone to consider, but the ending is very complex. I wanted to include more supporting evidence for this analysis, but this comment is already too long. But I hope that some people can learn from rewatching the show that the ending was never really about Eren and his people's justice/revenge/safety, but more about the godlike, enslaved, and depressing life of Ymir, who set up her experiment to see the result of the final moment: If Mikasa/Ymir could kill Eren/King Fritz and be free. There is a reason why they were called the “subjects” of Ymir. Of course, there are so many other details and commentaries the show makes while telling the main story such as anti-war and anti-racism that someone can write for days about, which is what makes this show so great. TL;DR: F*** stockholm syndrome

Akiyama Itsuharu

I, Muhammad Izharuddin bin Ibrahim, announces. It's been privilege to travel the journey of Attack On Titan AKA Shingeki No Kyojin, with you guys until the end. Whatever happens, keep moving forward! SUSUME!

I'm Batman

Also y'all should do attack on titan in 9 minutes. It only covers season 1 but it's pretty hilarious

VINLAND SAGA

Cjc

Amazing rewatching this with you guys. If I can recommend playing aot 2 final battle on the arcade channel if yours are looking to get your aot fix while waiting for the right time for a rewatch in dub.

Milly

thank you guys for reacting to it! this was so much fun and one of the only reasons i was really excited for mondays! see you in the death note reactions!

Nachtarox x

nope, gonna be Death Note. Still has the best shot at being their 3rd anime though. Seeing how DeathNote was in the Trailer for November, they probably start next Monday, not even giving themselves a 1 week break after this haha

Vasileios Mitsos

guy you probably forgot but they did say that if we kill zeke the rumbling would stop in the last episode because zeke is the one with the royal blood that activates founders power eren can only use the power because ymir sided with him by killing zeke you stop the founders powers

Kiki Varas

I loved this ending, some ppl didn’t like it but personally I thought it was fine and I liked the meaning. Also I hope you guys watch Vinland Saga.

Nachtarox x

THIS would be so more epic/fun than the suite video. This one is so hilarious. Honestly idk why the people would recommend to watch the best music of this show directly afterwards, but to be fair im just not a big music guy haha. I just feel like they could listen to this by themselves, we already have their reaction to these songs in the anime itself..

Eric

I'm on watch through start to finish probably 8 now. I still am picking things up. I personally love the writing of Erens character, he was imperfect and not someone capable of handling power and the show told us that imperfect story. It's so rare for media to do to their main protagonist what AOT did to Eren. Something most people miss is that Mikasa's headaches are actually ymir peaking into her head forcing her to protect Eren like ymir protected king fritz. It wasn't until Mikasa could overpower Ymir and kill Eren that Ymir was released from her pain.

Feli Moon

Ah I'm so excited 🔥🔥🔥

Eric

The suite is an absolute masterpiece and I know i always click reactions to it because I love listening to it again. It's definitely worth their reaction at some point since alot of us would enjoy it. (I am a huge music guy so that's probably why)

joe

Floch was right...

Sophia Sanchez

This is such a great finale episode. While it was coming out, I was so nervous that AOT wouldn't stick the landing, but like y'all said it was so solid. I promise if you re-watch the show on your own, you will be able to find sooooo much foreshadowing as well! Thanks for watching this; it was fun re-watching alongside you guys. The last send-off for Sasha & the Scouts always brings a tear to my eyes. Would love to tune in to a live stream about the show if y'all decide to do that! Looking forward to Death Note!!

Marco Gutierrez

I won't get to watch this until after work, but guys it's been an absolute blast seeing your journey for almost a year of anime reactions. My only suggestion is don't let this one ruin your enjoyment of others. Attack on Titan is damn near the gold standard of good writing in the modern era, not just in anime but in other media too. Other anime is good for sure, but don't let comparison become the thief of joy and just enjoy them for what they are. I look forward to seeing your future anime journey.

Sanji

I would love for you guys to react to op/ed. Or just react to the last ending song!!!

Vasileios Mitsos

us you know Eren is slave to freedom he wanted for everyone to be free and not slaves and Mikasa was slave to love loved Eren so much that was rejecting the idea of killing Eren in the end she was the one to kill him and become free and if you remember what Eren sed in first ep he would kill them all all of the titans and he finally did it and now by dyeing he also got his freedom

CamilleR

Thank you for watching this series!

Bambina

This is indeed a story about love. And I loved the ending so much. It shows that Eren was 19 after all, but given all the power and knowledge in the world. Ultimately, that’s what a 19-year old with that power could manage to do in order to give his friends a peaceful life. And he did. As we see, long after Mikasa died of old age obviously, decades after that is when Paradise got nuked. Also, we’ve known that Eren loved Mikasa since at least season 2, but as he said to Zeke “what do you want me to do, I have four years left at best”. Still glad to see his raw emotions here and his silly teenage way to show to Armin he did love Mikasa and doesn’t want her to forget him.

Sophia Sanchez

Also, it might be fun to see y'all rank your favorite characters. Mine are 1. Armin 2. Levi 3. Mikasa 4. Reiner 5. Erwin 🔥

congeries

Here a few fun facts: The opening season 3, with all the different animals? That were beast titans. With every new holder, the beast titan takes on another animal form Mikasa's voice actress is singing the song from the epilog. It stops, when they show Mikasa's death There is an official parody that is set in high school and it's weirdly amazing and wholesome In one of the first few episodes in season 3, there is a scene where Reiner and Eren train together. At one point, Reiner says to Eren "Now it's your turn to be the bad guy". (The foreshadowing is insane) You see a youn annie, reiner and berthold in episode 2, season 1. Armin is the narrator of the whole series. Mikasa couldn't put Eren's name on his tombstone. Instead it says "here forever rest peacefully my most beloved, my dear. 854" Season 4, Episode 1, Falco dreams about fyling as a bird The screams of the baby in the final episode are from the son of Eren's voice actor In Season 1, Episode 5, Eren says he can't die in a titan's mouth (when he saved Armin and lost his arm). Well, he did die in a Titan's mouth There are many, many more, but that are some fun ones in my opinion. To answer your questions: I watched it so many times by now, I lost track. But it's still so amazing for me. Right now, they show the final 2 episodes as one movie in the cinema in japan. I really hope they show it in my country, too. I would love to see it on the big screen And I think Mikasa ended up with Jean. For me, Levi has the most tragic ending. He survived, but at what cost? He can't be a soldier anymore. He lost everything and everyone he loved. He can't go back to his old home, cause he is seen as a war criminal there. It's just sad. And he isn't that old. He is roughly around 30 in Season 1, so he is about 34/35 at the end. Also I am still a little mad how his storyline with Zeke ended. It was not as satisfiying as I hoped it would be, cause Zeke practically throw himself at Levi's feets. And I am very excited that you will react to the musical suite :) The music in AoT is amazing. There is a world tour next year. It was very hard to get tickets and I am still amazed i managed. I am so thrilled and looking forward to it. Seeing you guys fall in love with the series and the characters was really fun. Especially since it was your first real anime. Thank you so much for sharing that with us :)

Kel

You guys saluting us at the end. 😭😭 What an image to leave us with. Thank you for giving this story the long ending discussion it deserves. Thank you for embracing my favorite show and characters. Thank you for giving me something to look forward to every Monday. I will miss this one with you guys. I’m so glad I decided to go Patreon, experiencing each moment made it even better. Oh and I love the AOT merch! This was the ride of a lifetime. I will be watching Death Note with you for the first time, and Alice in Borderland as well (along with many others in the future, I’m sure), but this journey will live on in our hearts. In your spare time, I do suggest rewatching at least once—you really will be amazed at how much you missed the first time around (as did we all). Love you guys!

congeries

I second that! I would love to see that, too. There are characters I don't like or care too much about, but I think every characters in the series is very well written and has his/her place. So it would be cool to see with which characters you connected the most (or the least) and why. Mine are 1. Levi 2. Hange 3. Erwin 4. Jean. 5.Pieck/Annie (but it is soooo though to choose)

joe

Something to know is that the manga ending was taken horribly. People claim that eren had some character assassination with his final words to armin and him being an idiot. I see it more as him being completely confused about himself and his own motivations. And the anime ending was overall very loved by the fanbase. Feel bad for isayama who had to deal with all the hate for years over his manga ending which was redeemed by the anime at least. I think anime just is able to flesh out details and present it in a more complete picture than the manga. It had to be split up into so many parts and delayed but at least they did it justice at the end.

beannieswife

just finished watching, this was such a fun ride ya'll. thanks for giving this show a chance♡ can't wait for that live!

Nate

A lot of nice fun facts! My opinions: I agree that Levi had a very tragic ending, but at least he had some closure. I think Zeke knew he was throwing himself to Levi and was prepared to die to him. Imo, Eren had the most tragic ending, as he was being manipulated by Ymir his whole life to eventually die, pretty much since he was born. Even in near his final moments, he revealed to Armin in the memory scene that he still had no idea what Ymir was trying to get Mikasa to do, and set him up to kill so many people and die by her hands. He was "literally" a subject of Ymir his whole life.

Kevin

Thank you guys so much for reacting to this series! I loved the finale, so I’m very glad you all loved it too. Such a good sense of closure for all our characters. I’ve seen some people think the end credits are too bleak showing the cycle of violence just continue, but it goes back to a core theme of the story: The hope that one day humans will understand each other. It’s a beautiful and cruel paradox. As Historia says at the end, “We fight so that some day we need fight no more.” Even with the knowledge that the violence will cycle for generations to come, part of being human is accepting that, but still pushing towards and hoping for a brighter future.

Nate

I can see Vinland Saga being totally their vibe. Death Note is also a classic.

Chandler Smith

I could write paragraphs about this show and how I've enjoyed watching it with you guys every Monday but I'm just gonna say thank you! This was my 3rd time watching it all the way through with a reactor and I swear I learn something new every time and it NEVER gets old. I really hope you guys enjoyed this series and I know it will stick with you. There truly isn't another story like AOT. I look forward to whatever else you guys do in relation to AOT in the future and once again, thank you!

beannieswife

thank you for sharing this, i feel like a lot of ppl fail to understand this part of the story because the timelines are a lil messy in this show (which is totally understandable).

Bruce WayneValley

Love is the strongest emotion. Ymir loved Fritz even if it was bad for her. This anime is an attack on my mental heatlh. Its taken almost a year to watch this on your channel but it took me maybe 4 years because we had to wait (didnt want to read manga), so these characters really stick and when you see that end credit seen; Its almost as if i grew up with the characters and seeing them i age and die generates alot of emotion. Along with that this island being completely oblireated.

Raphael Freitas

Absolute craazy ride. Thanks guys for your amazing reactions

DustinEatWorld

Thankyou so so much for this journey. The mondays “together” with you guys had been the highlight of the week for me. I’m gonna miss it. I’m skipping Death Note because I’m not a fan of it but I’ll be back when you watch Vinland Saga👀😇😇

Magnus Dalemark

From the first episode it was Armin telling the story. And the best thing about second watch, is to see the start, and watch Reiner. Brilliant

Elmo Pelmo

Thank you for watching this series, it was amazing watching it again with you guys! You could do a whole rewatch but i know ur shedule is tight and you shouldn't feel obligated to do it. But i would recommend to watch the first episode again, just to see it again with what u know now.

Nate

Thanks! I don't think anyone can get all the intricacies on the first watch. Honestly took me years to start picking up on it. Once you get the bigger picture though, rewatching is such a different experience.

Gigi

So happy I got to watch this show all over again with you four! And one hundred percent Mason Quinn. I also interpreted the ending to mean it’s all going to repeat again. I’m just happy that our crew (Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Reiner ect.) got to live out their lives in peace even though, as we see humanity continues to fight regardless of there being titans or not afterwards. Also Diamond Dave really did give the best reactions! Thank you all so much for this crazy ride ❤️ And I rewatched the last episode like 2x but it really made me rewatch the first episode again lol 😂 Also I think Mikasa probably ended up marrying Jean.

Julius Cervantes

The scene with mikasa and eren is the different reality of mikasa and eren if she said she loved him instead of saying he’s family “like a brother” to her She got to live out those few moments in the dream world with him and was able to kill the one she loved, something ymir couldn’t do. Ymir would always peek into mikasa’s life. causing headaches for mikasa to see if she would act differently or how she acted differently.

Anna Ramirez

It’s been awesome to go on this journey with you guys! I lost a close family member today, so it was nice to distract myself for 2 hours. I’m definitely rewatching all your aot reactions soon 😆. Greetings from Denmark

Yayita

Just to clear up the whole thing about how Mikasa was the one that reached Ymir and understood her, it is because Ymir was in love with King Fritz, a horrible man that did horrible things. Yet, because of her love, she still did everything for him. Mikasa was put in a similar situation, in love with a man that was destroying humanity and doing bad things. Ymir was watching what Mikasa would do, which is why she was having the headaches. It wasn't because of the whole Ackerman theory Eren gave her, it was because Ymir was trying to peek into her head and emotions with Eren. She watched Mikasa and saw how Mikasa was able to kill Eren despite the love she had for him. It essentially gave Ymir the encouragement that she needed to kill King Fritz and eliminate the threat of the titans forever.

I'm Batman

That's your opinion, comedy is subjective. To you it's not funny, to me it is.

Ashley K

Rewatching AOT with 🐐🐐🐐🐐 has been such a fun ride. Thank you BM for watching this and looking forward to seeing you all explore more anime! 🤝🤝🤝🤝

Kevin Zapata

Noticed a quick comment. The idea of him being an idiot, it basically means it’s his personality. His ideal resolution of when people do him or his closest loved ones wrong is to absolutely murder the shit out of them. We saw it all the way back when Mikasa was getting kidnapped. It’s BECAUSE of that unrelenting personality that when he got a hold of his power that he is going to use the rumbling and murder the entire world. We see comments from his mom and others of “it’s because Eren was born into this world”. we heard it from that general in the first special. You gave the WRONG person the power and reason to end the world because of your actions to everyone else.

Lethal Mitch

I never understood why people hated the manga so much. I remember reading it because I couldn’t wait, and i loved it.

Ibraheem

What a reaction one of the best ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥, here since s1 😞😞 what a journey can’t wait for the rewatch and music reactions

Jon

Ymir let King Fritz die in an alternate timeline right…? I never understood what that scene meant, but it makes sense…

Golladan

They had cars in Marley. Not that shocking that they'd show up soon in Paradis.

Feli Moon

Thank you so so much for this. It's been so many weeks... I watched it with you guys from the first day.. Monday has been a really good day for me this year. Wanted to tell you something: Fans say AOT is Mikasa's Story in Eren's POV told by Armin. And I really love that theory. Think about it. This show means a lot to me and the fact that you loved it is awesome. Go tell the world that this is a masterpiece. For me the best anime ever in the history of everything. Sasageyo!!! Tatakae!!!

Fiza Saba Iqbal

To explain why Mikasa was pivotal to Ymir: the founder Ymir was a slave to her love for Kings Fritz. In the same way, Mikasa was bound to her love for Eren. This is why Ymir saw herself in Mikasa. But Mikasa did what Ymir couldn’t do, killing Eren and thus breaking the 2000 year cycle of slavery to love. Mikasa is therefore, the truest form of freedom in AOT. For choosing to save the lives of humanity with her own free will, over the one she loved the most, like she’d always done. Knowing Mikasa would ultimately kill him, Eren created a construct of a life together with her, within paths, to spend at least some time together in peace until the horrific reality of the Rumbling. This is the ‘vision’ we see of them together at the cabin. Had Mikasa answered truthfully to Eren’s question back in Marley (“What am I to you?”) and told him she loved him, that cabin life was the reality that awaited them. Her and Eren would’ve eloped together, Eren sacrificing the rumbling and spending his last 4 years with her. So Mikasa' answer to Even really was detrimental to the course of the Rumbling occurring or not. Also yes, Mason Quinn was right! The tree we see the boy and his dog walk into at the end, is the same tree Ymir stumbled into and gave her the titan ability with the weird life form. Whether the lineage of titans would restart is up to debate with fans. However with or without the titans existence, the message here is that humanity is destined to fall into war, hatred and suffering, just as Eren had said. Thus summing up the never-ending cycle AOT is.

For me, it takes me back to the times where people produced silly videos with the community just for the fun of it. It definetely was a different kind of humour back then. So i do get how people wouldnt find it funny, my parents for example could never like this aswell.

jaeideun

this is also what i took away from the ending. ymir got the power of the titans because she was scared running for her life and needed to become a bigger and stronger body to protect herself hence the power of life manifested as the power of the titans. as you said this boy is living in the aftermath of a world plagued by wars, possibly when humanity is rebuilding what remains. he’d be hopeful, peaceful, and bright eyed of the possibilities of the future, kind of like how armin and eren were before the titans broke the wall. so who’s to say what powers he might manifest when he comes into connect with life. maybe something along the lines of eternal peace? who knows but his predicament with encountering the power of life and his state of mind is worlds away from ymir so maybe the power life gives him is also worlds away from the recreation of titans.

jaeideun

however i will say that there is a boy and a dog during the scouts fight against past titans on erens spine that resemble the boy and dog in the end credits. so that always stumps me that maybe the titan power does start back up again.

Thank you so much for this journey. The show is a masterpiece with many amazing messages that give hope for the future of humanity. I know the fandom was split between the rumbling being the only way to save Paradis, but I think that's what happens in reality when it comes to war. There reality is there is no black and white, good or bad in conflict and war. The message of the violence cycle being for eternity is pretty grim, but as the show says " we need to fight so we don't have to fight no more." Eren is very much an anti-hero and will be remembered as an amazing character along with other characters in the show. This was one of my first animes and I know many people say it, but it truly is the most amazingly written story I've seen in any media. It touched me in a way no other show or movie has ever been able to. No matter the debate or opinions everyone has, this is a masterpiece and is majority agreed upon to be one of the very best animes ever. It will most likely be my favorite story of all time forever. It was so fun to watch this again with you all and to listen to your thoughts and ideas. Even if the ending is controversial I think the majority of the fandom was satisfied or accepted the ending. Can't wait for Death Note, which is also complex and interesting. Amazing reactions to an original and beautiful story. Thank you sm for giving AOT a chance! 😍 P.S. This is my third time rewatching with reactors who have not watched any anime and as always they fall in love with AOT like the rest of us. I also have never payed for a patron until you guys did it. I watched your reactions and conversations for the first few episodes and I knew I wanted to see your full reactions. So you guys are the first patreon I've been a part of. Thanks for making it affordable too.

Anguis Viridis

What an awesome wrap-up to an awesome series! I'm very, very happy you all enjoyed it and are now wholly free to catch up on all the comments! Hell, even other reactors! It's been great seeing this through with you all. I'm looking forward to the Suite reaction and the Live, as well. Additionally, I'm very happy you picked up Alice in the Borderland - it's a series I've been curious about. I'll check it out so I can catch your reactions to it!

Minerva Ravenclaw

Thank you so much🤍 it was a blast, thank you for watching and for discussing, I personally super enjoyed. I'm staying because I really enjoy the company!

MooLake

A lot of people speculate Jean (who always liked mikasa) married her. However the flowers she’s buried with apparently symbolise chastity, as well as the ones she put on Erens grave which send the message that she won't forget him, she still loves him, she will remain devoted and wait to join him. I kinda prefer this idea to her ending up with Jean. Eren tells her to take the scarf off and forget him, and she says no and never gets rid of it. I think the people she is visiting with is Armin with his family, or her adopted child. This is also evident from her bandaged wrist hiding the mark during her burial next to Eren, which wouldn’t be hidden if she’d married, had a child and passed it on. Kind of up for interpretation still though.

Lovisa🍭

I can't believe it's over!! I had been subscribed to your youtube channel for a few months already, but when you started AOT I eventually couldn't resist joining your Patreon. I don't typically like anime, actually, but I love AOT because the story is just that amazing and complex. It's truly been a blast to rewatch my favorite show with you guys 🙌

Katie O’Pella

CONGRATS ON FINISHING! Y’all should DEF check out the last 2 opening songs since they weren’t in the two part finale. Also the LIVE concert performances of these beloved songs are unforgettable and WORTH IT❤️ SO grateful for y’all giving this masterpiece a chance xoxo

Fajar Kurniawan

You know this show is great, because it makes Quinn ready willing and able to step out from his plain white T-shirt comfort zone 😁

Aaron Yin

I'd like to think that ending scene hints at the sequel: Attack on Transformers, since all the technology advances.

Skellyp

If you watch when all the “previous titans” are running at Annie, one of the titans you see, is a literal dog, one theory is that dog is the one the kid is walking with at the end, so like a future titan!

Skellyp

Technically it’s not the same tree, but it is the tree Eren was buried under, and the tree kept growing, and it’s just like the tree yimir stumbled into. There could be something in the hole!

Skellyp

Don’t sell it short, it’s ok to say it’s the best show of all time if you feel it!

Skellyp

I think they were mentioning how much more modern that looked than the one’s they had in Marly.

Skellyp

It’s not really an alternate timeline, there’s only the one timeline in this show. It’s more showing what she realizes she’s done being in servitude to the king and the scene of him taking the spear is just showing how she wishes it happened in retrospect, and now she’s ready to pass on.

Skellyp

The people we lose in life live on through our memories and through us by the things they thought us. Everyone dies twice, once when you take your last breath, and again the last time someone thinks of them. Sorry for your loss.

Skellyp

I think it’s funny that you said “like a brother” lol.

Skellyp

If you watch closely, you can see the seasons pass 10 times before Mikasa comes back with “Jean” so Eren got his 10 years.

FAV POINTS FROM THE FINALE - feel free to add and discuss -Armin was seen as the old man near the tree after old mikasa died and got buried next to eren. he was the third to make it to the tree, as was told. -First scene of season 4 was falco looking at birds. he woke up from a dream where he thought we was flying above titans wielding swords. the amount of foreshadowng in this show is mind blowing. -Similar thing in season 1 episode 1. Eren wakes up and asks Mikasa "When did your hair get so long." The last part of the dream he had, Mikasa had short hair (final episode). The genius Isayama planted these foreshadows and references in EVERY episode -Eren had to manipulate himself to be the kid full of anger and hate so he made the titan eat his mom instead of berthold. he also needed armin to inherit the colossal so berthold couldn't die there. People didn't wan't to accept that since they wanted to believe Eren and his cause but unfortunately he wanted this outcome more than anything. -The parallel between mikasa and founder ymir. mikasa did what ymir couldn't do, kill the person you loved to be liberated from 'the curse'. once ymir witnessed it she was finally free and we could see her with her children in a frame insted of with king fritz who had a spear in him. eren figured this out. -A lot of people thought eren weeping to armin was 'out of character'. but we know that that was the real eren. he didn't have to put on the act anymore since armin was going to remember it after erens death. -Eren and mikasa lived out his remaining 4 years peacefully in the paths, it was a gift given to her by eren. Only after eren's death in the paths was she able to kill him in real life. -Eren admitting that if anyone else had this kind of power the outcome wouldn't be the same. He realizes that this was the only outcome because he is 'an idiot who got his hands on power' this sums up eren perfectly. He "did it for himself" becuase HE wanted his friends to live long lives, HE wanted a free world that isn't occupied, HE wanted the power of titans to vanish. -"You were right armin, i am a SLAVE TO FREEDOM." stop it Isayama, we don't deserve you. Remember Kenny's last words before his death? "We are all drunk on something, eveyone was a slave to something." And of course, this quote applies to every single charatcer in the show. -Eren never saw the shell armin found when they first made it to the sea. he never looked back, he was too busy thinking about 'if we kill all our enemies, will we finally be free' looking out in the distance. he was obsessed with the idea of an unoccupied, free world that he didn't notice the beauty next to him. -Armin says let's tell our story to everybody while holding the feather at the end. He is the narrator of the story from episode 1. Great touch. -Zeke sacrificed himself to levi to stop the rumbling and save whats left of humanity. -Levi looking at the lollipop reminded him of hange, when they first stepped into marley. -Callback to jean thinking eren's a suicidal maniac before he blows up the dynamite (he said it a bunch of times before). also similar to when reiner said that eren should be the last person to have this kind of power. -A great call back to season 1 when eren said something along the lines of 'i would never die inside of a titans mouth' when he was almost chewed up by santa titan. of course isayama knew that he would eventually die inside of a titans mouth. -The island of paradis without walls seems to have a thriving couple hundred years after eren's death where they prosper and build skyscrapers. but of course, ultimately humanity and war goes side by side. -Reiner being the absolute mvp of the endgame. -The 'thing' aka 'glowing worm' is a Hallucigenia. Lived about 505 million years ago, believed to be the ancestor of all complex-life forms. Sort of like a first souce of all life. -Eren gave the squad the freedom to stop him, he said he will only march on, the resistance was all founder ymir. he was successful in his goal of wiping out titans from the world, but at what cost. -Last song you hear is sang by Mikasa's voice actor. I think Eren's voice actor is in it too. -We have witnessed history. the perfect show ended with a perfect ending. viewers left in shambles, tears, frustration, satisfaction, anger, happiness, sadness, helplessness. i cannot describe the feelings i have felt throughout this show. i am glad that it stayed true to itself all the way to the end. -THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD. PEAK FICTION. THANK YOU ISAYAMA. THANK YOU ANIMATORS. THANK YOU VOICE ACTORS. THANK YOU MUSIC COMPOSERS AND SINGERS. GOODBYE AOT, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY NUMBER 1. SHINZO WO SASAGEYO

Skellyp

I’d recommend rewatching with other people on their own If they want, but we would all love to rewatch with them too!

Skellyp

Samzies, I’ll be back for Vinland, best fallow up to AoT

Skellyp

First time I read it I didn’t love it as much as I do now. But it was perfect in the anime, even tho there are minimal changes.

Skellyp

Another fun fact, in the manga, the opening scene in the first chapter with Eren and Mikasa, it’s preceded by the opening they have in the 1st special. It shows Mikasa reaching for erens face from erens point of view, and Mikasa saying, “see you later, Eren” then cut to black, then Eren wakes up under the tree. Then the opening scene. This implies Eren may be in a memory loop trapped.

Skellyp

I wanna see them rank their favorite shows of all time now!

Skellyp

I agree, they should react to AoT in 9 mins, I guarantee they would like it.

chonkybae

Thanks for sharing. Yes I agree the timeline are a really messy in AOT. Also, just to add, Mikasa and Eren in the cabin is not in a dream but in alternate reality of What If. Isayama told in the interview that the ending of AOT is basically according to Mikasa answer to Eren. Eren show to Mikasa because he felt responsible to fullfill her dream and let her know that he loves her too. In the manga, Eren dreamt of the alternate reality but its actually him living the last of his days with Mikasa in the cabin based on Mikasa choice. Eren keep on repeating the whole reality until Mikasa chose “family” as the answer and let him finish off what he started.

Manny D.

Wasn’t the “when did your hair get long?” question left out of the anime?

Skellyp

That was only in the manga, and the real crazy thing when you look at the manga, the opening scene in the very first chapter with Eren and Mikasa, it’s preceded by the opening they have in the 1st special. It shows Mikasa reaching for erens face from erens point of view, and Mikasa saying, “see you later, Eren” then cut to black, then Eren wakes up under the tree. Then the opening scene. This implies Eren may be in a memory loop or something, but the fact that it’s in the first chapter, crazzzzyyyy!

Skellyp

At the start of this journey, I decided to pay for Patreon for the whole year. First time I ever did anything like that, but money well spent. Ty for the ride. Also, there is another after credits scene that they put on the movie that just came out in Japan. I won’t spoil it, but it’s amazing. The movie is basically the 2 final specials edited together and with better effects and such, but you guys should see it in theaters if it comes to America, then give another review and talk about the new after credits scene. Thanks again! I’ll be back for Vinland!

Manny D.

Congrats on finishing!!! This was such a fun ride with you guys!!

Rainy Days

WELL DONE, QUINN. You noticed the scarf on the boy with the dog, at the end... Many miss that on the first time around.

Rainy Days

It MUST BE SAID........ Answer looking real good in that jacket. Atta boy!

Graham F

Watched every episode with yall, made my weeks, love it!

Rainy Days

Love the Oak saying "What it takes for the world to know peace, is that all is left is a boy and his dog." As a single man who loves dogs, that seems like the perfect 'happy ending' to this awful ( albeit incredibly moving! ) story...

Eric Wallace

Finally home and settled, poured a pour and half of one my favorite whiskeys, and ready to hit it

Artem Dmytrenko

Btw, the whole story happened because Ymir let out pigs, so they would be FREE and won't be EATEN. Did you get the irony? :)

Steven Warner

Yes Quinn, I agree, what a journey 🤙🏻

Jonathan Arevalo

Thank you so much for the wonderful journey guys!!!

ScivarWarlock

You guys did it. You finished one of the greats. This finale had me sobbing. The emotional release after watching for 10 years could only be expressed in tears. When this final-finale came out was only one month after I lost my Mother. She loved to watch TV and movies with me more than anyone. So the ending of this story really hit me hard. I know there was a poll for what anime to watch next, my recommendation isn't a show. I recommend to try not to compare all other anime after this to Attack On Titan. They all have their peaks in their own ways even if they don't hit the same highs for you that this specific series might have. Also there is a lot of quirks and tropes that appear in many anime, I wonder how you will react to those. 🔰🤜💖Shinzo wo Sasageyo

Steven Warner

Objectively you’re right DD, everyone died in my opinion, 1 way or another

Steven Warner

This was my first rewatch

Leif

I love that they loved the ending. And all 5's as well, what a rare moment!

Leif

Also, I can't believe the journey is done! I hopped onto patreon when u started AOT, and I was in college, but now its over and I'm all graduated!

Envy

I’m happy to have been here for every episode guys ! Truly loved every reaction you guys gave it’s been an amazing journey thank you.

Francis Demonteverde

You guys should watch a video breakdown of AoT because you missed out on a lot of important reveals and explanations. Some are so subtle, most people don't get it til after a couple more rewatches.

TerraZetzz

Whether the titans come back again or some other form of power. What matters is that all of Eren's friends lived long and peaceful lives before any wars broke out. You can see Mikasa passed away before they showed the wars.

Jonathan Lopez

Damn!!! Seeing the end of AoT always brings me sadness but I’m glad you guys enjoyed it like I did. Can’t wait for your next ride which is death note 💪. I’m sure you guys will enjoy that anime as will

Eric Wallace

This series reaction has been a top 3 reaction of all time. Bravo gentleman. I'll be here until you guys quit doing this. I'm so fucking serious, run it right back with a second watch in dub. It'd be unprecedented in reactions. No one's ever done it and people would relish in watching you put things together having so recently finished the series. It will feel like your watching a different show

Flubbedsquid

Quinn hit the nail on the head right away. It's about the endless cycle of human violence. All our efforts, at best, earn a brief reprieve, but in the end, humans will be humans. I have seen some theories that don't necessarily contradict that, though. One is that the titans will not necessarily return, because they, along with the paths, were a manifestation of Ymir's fear of death.

Flubbedsquid

As for Eren, here is how I understand him and his actions. Eren absolutely wanted to kill everyone. The reasons he gives armin "I was setting you guys up as heroes, it was all because ymir was watching mikasa, etc" are copes he uses for both himself and armin so he doesn't have to admit it, but of course he finally breaks down and says it. "I just wanted to... so very badly." But why, exactly? When he learned humanity survived outside the walls, he was disappointed beyond belief. He had spent his entire life in a cage, not just literally, but figuratively, the cage of living in the society of the walls. The outside world didn't amaze him because it was fields of ice and lava and whatnot. That was Armin's view of it. For Eren, what it was always about was a free, empty world, devoid of other people who would tell him what to do. True freedom. For so long, his childhood hatred carried him forwards with one goal in mind: to take back the world from the titans. With the idea that when he finally does, he would be rewarded with the free world he envisioned. But when he finally achieves that goal, he learns the horrible truth: the outside world is not free, it's full of people, people who are just the same as those inside the walls: cattle, following orders and living as they are told. There's nothing Eren hates more than slaves. He indirectly vents about this to Falco while disguised in Marley. "People who push themselves onward see a different hell. They're looking at something beyond that hell. It might be hope, or it might be yet another hell." This perfectly describes himself. He was the first, someone who saw hope beyond the hell of hatred he had embroiled himself in. But at the last moment, when he was about to grasp that hope, it revealed itself as a hell worse than the one he was in, worse because this time, there is no hope, no free world waiting beyond the walls after victory, because it's literally the entire world who is his enemy. Unless... "If we kill all of our enemies, will we finally be free?" So what does he do? Given all the power in the world to do what he chooses, what does a rage filled boy do when the thing he wanted all his life is torn away at the last moment? Deep down, he knows what he wants to do, but he resists because he isn't pure evil. He could do it. There's nothing stopping him from doing it if he so chose. Sure, it would be wrong, but it would finally be over, he would finally have the world he dreamed about. He fights back against it. He frantically looks for other options that would justify TO HIMSELF not killing everyone. That's the important part here. He wasn't looking for other options because he wanted to make the strategic best move or something. He wanted to find a way to survive that would feel as good to him as seeing a free, lifeless world. And he couldn't. He genuinely entertained Zeke's plan. It wasn't just a con, he wanted to know what he was planning. But of course, he just couldn't accept an ending like that. It doesn't help that he knows he does it, thanks to the Attack Titan's power. He sees himself fulfilling his own dream, killing everyone like he wanted to, but it tears him apart because he knows it's wrong and wanted to convince himself he wouldn't actually do it. Imagine slapping your boss, who you always wanted to slap. You never actually would though. You're better than that, and it would cause a lot of trouble. But damn, you really want to. Then one day you see the future of yourself doing it. Yes, it's what you wanted, but holy shit, you're gonna get so fucked over this, and you didn't REALLY want to resort to violence like that, did you? Imagine that times 100 billion because instead of slapping your boss, it's human genocide. What a lot of people also get wrong here is thinking that Eren was "forced" to do it by fate or something because there's a fixed timeline. That's not really true. He saw his future self do it, yes, and the future was unchangeable, yes, but it works BOTH ways. For that future to come to pass, the present must lead to that future, it's not like he is gonna say "I choose not to rumbling" then walk away, but he accidentally trips on a broom and presses the rumbling button because fate. Eren went from someone who wanted the rumbling but would never do it, to someone who WOULD do it, not because of fate but because of his experiences, because of who he is as a person, because that's what he would have done.

Thiago Gaspar

When Mikasa goes to kiss Eren's head, she says she will see him soon. When Eren closes his eyes and dies, he "as a child" opens his eyes in the past, crying, under the tree which is when it all begins! Best script in the world! The first scene of the first episode shows Eren waking up from a dream where he sees several things that will happen but can't remember them properly, so he wakes up crying. In the scene of the alternate future where Mikasa and Eren are together, she is in his place, sleeping and waking up crying with the memories of the final war. There was an astral plane that Eren created with the power of the Founding Titan and lived for years with Mikasa... a "gift" for her who always dreamed of living with him; and he did the same with Armin and the others. Eren influenced the past and you can see it when you watch it again; the script is the best!!! I'm so happy you got to see this masterpiece! 😁😁😁 PS: The boy from the future doesn't need to be a descendant of Ymir... She's gone and whoever connects with the source of life will be the new Founding Titan "in Ymir's place for example".

Mikaela Alfonso

Wow, I enjoyed rewatching AOT with you all. I would definitely stay tuned if you all did a live chat about the show. I cannot believe it's over, and hopefully, you all would be open to a rewatch as well.

Thiago Gaspar

I loved the journey guys 😁 Thank you so much; you are the best!!!!

AirHigz

Thanks for reacting to this series guys! It gave me something to look forward to each week. I even discovered some of your older videos In the process, like when Oak kicked answer in the head during one of your “challenge videos”. You gotta check out Vinland Saga eventually.

This show is a tricky one. I am glad you guys sat through it. Ultimately, what is so divisive and equally fascinating about AoT is that it is undeniably pessimistic. It portrays the worst in people, crank up to 11. The world is deterministic (closed-loop) because Eren could not change his nature - make no mistake, he WANTED to do it. If you can't make sense of it and think Eren's character is poorly written, think about a time when you did a bad thing, knowing it's bad but you are compelled by your nature to do it anyway. That is the struggle that the author is trying to capture with Eren. It was not done perfectly, but it's the most compelling exploration of nature vs nurture in fiction that I have seen. The writing with Ymir and Mikasa is also extremely subtle. Ymir is a child that is seeking "meaning", the answer to Zeke's question. The answer she ultimately arrived at is a combination what Eren, Armin, and Mikasa showed her. With Eren, the meaning of life is having the freedom to do right AND wrong. With Armin, the meaning of life is the quiet, insignificant moments. With Mikasa, it was the final push of courage to let go of her unhealthy attachment to king Fritz. As for the final scene, it is open-ended but here is my interpretation: the boy will encounter the parasite in better condition than Ymir (she became a titan because she was scared for her life, who knows what he will become?), life is cyclical - but it is also incrementally getting better with each cycle.

Ivan Rasmussen

Lol Diamond thinking this whole story has been a dream sequence. That would have been brutal to watch a year of that haha

Drift3r

Awesome reaction guys. I loved every minute of it and I really enjoyed your post show analysis and conversation. In regards to Oak's comment about the revelation that Eren provides about why his mom gotten eaten in the very first episode of Season 1. I think Oak is on the right track. Eren sent the "Pure" Titan, that was his dad's first wife, after his mom to save Bertolt because Bertolt was instrumental to the timeline unfolding in the way Eren saw it through the Attack Titan's memory ability. So he had to keep the "timeline" intact. However remember that he was able to decipher this timeline using memories but his head got all jumbled up because he couldn't keep track of past, present or future to well. Furthermore you have to question how reliable was his interpretation and understanding of those memories. Never mind that he saw those memories when he was effectively still a teenager. How did that affect his decision making process? In other words, when Eren says that "...it always played out the same way" I think it's a very subtle way of saying, by the creator of AoT, that future events could not unfold differently because of who Eren was as a person and his innate personality and temperament. That also kind of explains why he calls himself an "idiot" when he talks to Armin and why it makes sense that he "wanted to see that sight" in terms of the outcome of the Rumbling. Because he was kid processing a whole bunch of screwed up memories about the outside world from his father and "The Owl" Eren Kurger. Memories that disappointed him because the outside world was "just people" and memories that angered him because he realized those people not only hated everyone on the island but wanted them dead. P.S. If you go back to 36:39 on this last episode and you pause the video at that time you'll see something special. I think what you will see at 36:39 plays off what Oak was saying about the boy and his dog. That being said, it's my view that history doesn't repeat but it does rhyme in a sense. In other words, the circumstances that led to Ymir obtaining the Titan power, being hunted and chased by dogs, are completely different than that of the image of the boy exploring with his doggo companion. So maybe the outcome or direction might also veer toward a different path.

Nere Rodriguez

I'm happy I was part of this journey with you guys! AOT will always be my favorite story. Isayama sensei is an absolute genius; he wrote this when he was about 19 years old! It's a masterpiece. I've watched the whole show like 4 times - season 4, about 7 times - the finale about 15 times and I ALWAYS CRY lol. Also, some random details and interesting theories: The narrator is Armin because after reading that letter from Historia, he said the world would learn about what happened - also, since Armin is the one telling the story, notice how we had no narrator on Armin's "death" episode because he was unconscious the whole time until he woke up as a titan shifter. If you rewatch the episode in which Grisha Jaeger is talking with "the owl" Eren Kruger, you will notice that from one angle, he is talking with Kruger but when the angle changes, we can see Eren Jaeger's face instead of Kruger. It happens super fast, but you can even pause the episode if you want. After that, Kruger says the " Save Mikasa and Armin" line and he gets confused about whose memories those are. Another theory: Eren closed his eyes during the rumbling and opened them to see Mikasa right before dying. Fun fact: Isayama planned to kill Levi but didn't because his wife told him that if he dared do that, she would divorce him. lol. - Thank you Mrs Isayama, we love you infinitely. Thank you for enjoying it as much as we do and for becoming part of the fandom. See you on your reaction to the AOT Suite and on your journey with Death Note.

Diamond Dave: “Not even Thanos did that…” You’re technically right. It’s easy to forget because we mainly focus on Earth, but Thanos snapped half of life in the UNIVERSE. So he did unfathomably more than what Eren did 😂

mimbulus

Remember The Rumbling was activated only because Zeke and Eren came into contact - it is mentioned multiple times that the true power of the Founding Titan resides within someone of royal blood but the vow renouncing war makes them unable to use it to its full extent - so Eren needed Zeke to be alive to continue The Rumbling

mimbulus

The people at the end are his friends - in the manga, it is implied that Annie and Armin get married and have kids, Connie visits Eren with his mum, Jean & Mikasa get together and visit Eren multiple times - notice the clothes and hair colors. Mikasa is buried with Eren. Armin outlives them all and we see him visiting Eren's grave in the final scene of the manga before the future wars start playing out.

mimbulus

Here's what I think about the connection between Ymir and Mikasa. If you guys go back and play the scene where Mikasa is holding Eren's head inside the Titan's mouth with Ymir standing behind them looking at the scene - they show her as a normal girl with no lines under her eyes and a SMILE. It is the only time we have seen her smile. Later on, when walking away from Armin, Mikasa sees the grown-up version of Ymir and says, 'So it's you who has been looking inside my head all this time' - her headaches signify this. I think Ymir foresaw a version of herself in Mikasa - who fell in love with the king who did not return her feelings. Fritz used her and humiliated her. She could do nothing but obey because she was miserably in love, trapped. Maybe Ymir wanted to see if Mikasa would make the right choice with Eren after he trampled on 80% of humanity. Would she be strong enough to kill him or would miserable hopeless love get the better of them this time again? This is why you see the visual of Ymir holding her 3 daughters after driving a spear into Fritz's heart - she wanted to have that courage that Mikasa showed. That's the result of Mikasa's choice.

I had an amazing time watching attack on TITAN with you guys again this channel actually made me excited for Mondays

@Chrisiyyi Death note is next, if you don’t like it you could leave then come back.

1:09:34 actually very accurate to real life, lots of ppl expect some crazy deep answer for atrocities like these in real life, but a lot of the time its literally as simple as some idiot getting their hands on power. Thats how most wars start, the ones with the power decide the fate of everyone else, even now in real life, someones got that button on their desk that can start WW3, just like eren.

Tiffany

Well gentlemen🍻, cheers to experiencing some of the best storytelling, musical soundtracks, and entertainment in cinema we are lucky to have witnessed in our lifetimes 🦋 This show is one I hold very near and dear; one of my favorite memories is when I watched the first episode. The first 3 episodes were aired so I decided to give this show a look. I remember starring at my screen in shock for a solid 2 minutes before immediately I HAD to show my older brother. He passed away 3 years ago, and this show was one we would watch together. Watching the finale was both heartbreaking and bittersweet. And then I came across you awesome dudes on YouTube, and decided to be a subscriber cause I genuinely enjoyed to hear everyone’s thoughts on certain movies or shows. Then that awesome day two months ago you guys posted the first episode reaction and I thought, “oh boy, they are in for a WILD ride and don’t even know it”, and from then on it was history. So many times I remember getting to the end of an awesome episode with yall only to have the “To Be Continued.” Everyone, you guys never failed to make me laugh with your outrage ☺️ it was fun. I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s brains combust, and everyone’s heart ripped to pieces. In a way, Oak had the right idea to build a wall around himself 😅. This journey was a crazy one, a painful one at times, even having watched it a few times, there are some parts that still hurt. But even so, it was beautiful and it was great. Thank you once again for giving this show such a high praise and finding a message. This show has amazing rewatch value, there’s always something new to catch or pickup. You guys are awesome, peace and love 🐚 oh, and also, SASAGEYO🐎🐎🐎

TheMilkMan

Finally made it to the end, hope you guys do more animes, lots of amazing storytelling especially in the last 5 years.

TheMilkMan

That final scene is what divided the fanbase, you had one side saying this was pointless, Eren should've just wiped out the entire world, and the other side saying, of course, it's inevitable, conflict is something humanity will never get over. Like what Viktor said in Arcane, conflict is ingrained within us, the cause of it is our beliefs, ideals, emotions, etc. That final scene, is realistic, personally, I was happy with that ending, even though war would still occur, it at least doesn't happen for another century or two based on that technology advancement with those scenes, I'm happy that the people we journeyed with got to live long peaceful lives as evident of an old battle hardened Mikasa being put to rest in one of those end scenes.

menkoi

I love you guys! It was a fun ride watching this with you guys🙏🏼 Its my 7th times watching this whole series😅✨

Tristan kun

This was such a wild adventure, you guys reacting to this series literally made me sub to the patreon cause I just couldnt wait to see more. Amazing show and amazing reactions as always, cant wait to see yall react to new shows from here on.

Scott Bringel

This is a bootstrap paradox I think works very well because it stays true to Eren’s character throughout, stubborn and arrogant, which is cleverly disguised as brave and determined when we first get to know him. My theory is that Eren is frankly a weak minded individual through the whole show and we’re made to believe differently until season 4, but the evidence is there in every season. He’s Always getting saved by Mikasa, and relying on Armin’s mind. When he made the decision to send the titan to his mom it’s because it was the only choice he saw in the paths that would drive him to save all the Eldians, but without looking at the consequences of where it would lead. So since that event, any path he would take would always lead to the rumbling because he could never change the initial decision to have his mom killed which would ultimately drive him to power. Eren was so narrow minded that violence was all he saw in any outcome. His mind was never programmed for peace, but he indirectly programmed himself that way in the paths. Hence his his self admitted “I’m an idiot”. This was such an amazing reaction series just like Avatar and can’t believe it’s already over. Thank you Badd Medicine for all the great times!!!

Sanji

I hope this doesn't spark any political hate comments but AoT is literally just the Israel/Palestine Conflict.

Katie Madsen

What an awesome year this has been watching this with you guys. I really felt like this episode had so much love and soul poured into it, I am so glad you guys have enjoyed this one so much. Hype for Death Note! Going to be a different experience compared to AOT, and I'm excited for you guys to see it!!! Loving the merch by the way, I laughed seeing that even if he is wearing merch, Mason Quinn will have a white tshirt looool

Sanji

Yeah ur right! I just think Israel vs Palestine is the most recent well known example

Rainy Days

For Dave: IF you remember back a few episodes, Jean has a dream of having a wife, and children, and drinking on a patio..... That was of Mikasa. You can see it's her, but she has longer hair, which is why it's easy to miss that it is her... If one looks closely when there is the shot over her right ear while playing with the baby in the dream, you can see the scar on her face. Also remember back to when they FIRST met. Back in season 1, when they begin ODM Gear training. In the mess hall, Jean was in love with Mikasa right away. He compliments her hair, especially the length. Eren then says to her that it's too long, and she should cut it short, because it will be in the way in battle. She cut it short for the rest of the show. She grows it long again, as seen in the very end credits. The man who Mikasa has family with, in the end, was Jean.

Rainy Days

Eren got what he wanted. His friends to live long and happy lives in peace. And while, yes, war still is a part of human nature.. His other goal was to stop the literal cannibalism that happened with the Titans and their descendants. He succeeded in both those goals.

Rainy Days

And Mikasa was rewarded with a long life after, where she had a family with Jean. Eren and Mikasa broke the Titan cycle. This ties back to Armin and Zeke and their conversation of what life is about ( the baseball / leaf ) They cannot stop conflict and war; That's human nature. But they could and did stop the Titan cannibalism and create a peace in their lifetimes, if nothing else.

Rainy Days

While I agree with this, I would say it goes one step further. ALL life is inherently violent, because nature itself is. Think about the scene with Zeke in The Paths talking to Armin about before life ( right when Chapter 4 begins in this final episode ) and inert energy being all which existed. It showed fire and water, and was visually quite violent, and "something survived." In order for Life itself to exist, it must be able to... well... Fight. Life fears death. So it fights. Life also wants to multiply. So it also loves.

Rainy Days

LOVE ALL THESE. Gonna copy and paste the comment I left for replying to something Dave said in the wrap up, regarding Mikasa's hair, that you said in your comment here: "For Dave: IF you remember back a few episodes, Jean has a dream of having a wife, and children, and drinking on a patio..... That was of Mikasa. You can see it's her, but she has longer hair, which is why it's easy to miss that it is her... Rainy Days

Life itself is in conflict. This was very directly implied with what Zeke said to Armin in The Paths, as well many other times in the show overall. It's not just people. Life must Fight!

Rainy Days

sorry but theres a funny irony to saying "complete picture" about manga, cause its like literally a picture book x) haha sorry just had to laugh at that.

Rainy Days

The woman Jean has his dream about, while drinking on a patio and watching the mother of his baby play with the kid, is Mikasa with longer hair ( the trait that he first saw about her and fell in love with... which Eren then said to cut shorter ) You can see the scar on her cheek very briefly in that scene. She also dies with long hair, because no need to cut it short for battle. They 100% end up together, I think.

Rainy Days

Loved that. Very well written and thought provoking. I'd also note that Ymir was in love with freedoms she NEVER had. So, for example, when Armin asked those still in The Paths to fight in their Titan Avatars which Ymir was controlling on the back of Eren's Founding Titan, she respected it and allowed it. In the end, those who choose to FIGHT - as is the very nature of Life itself - must be allowed to do so. Even she, with the power of founding the Titans, granted to her by the first lifeform, could not stop free will. Even if that power is removed from the earth, the life left on the planet cannot help but eventually fall back into conflict. The whole story is about life itself, and what it's all about. Love. Multiplying. Surviving. Fighting. Sacrifice. Peace. The insignificant things, which are right in front of us the whole time, but we fail to see their beauty. Giving ones heart. It's such a wonderfully subtle story.

Nate

Completely agree, and to add to that: Eren had no other choice but to believe he was being an idiot and it was also him as a human being taking some semblance of accountability (because it was technically his "body" committing all of those atrocious actions). The whole point of his character near the end was that he was completely overtaken by Ymir so Mikasa can kill him. I think a lot of people misunderstand Eren's dialogue and take it too literally and think that his actions were actually 100% just him being an idiot.

PO

Although war is inevitable as shown, the titans are gone for good. The kid walking into the tree and Ymir had completely different circumstances. Ymir was filled with rage and in a life and death situation. Therefore she created an immortal body as Zeke put it. The kid is happy and is exploring with his dog. He doesn't have any need to turn into a monster. There are very well put explanations of these. I think Eren tried to wipe out everybody though, he just couldn't and it was determined.

PO

Slave to freedom. Eren admitting that if anyone else had this kind of power the outcome wouldn't be the same. He realizes that this was the only outcome because he is 'an idiot who got his hands on power' this sums up eren perfectly. He "did it for himself" becuase HE wanted his friends to live long lives, HE wanted a free world that isn't occupied, HE wanted the power of titans to vanish.

PO

Thank you!! PLEASEE make sure they see it. Seems like they missed some of the core points. Especially: Slave to freedom. HE was disappointed when he found out humanity was alive outside the walls, implying that he couldn't be free unless it was unoccupied. Also the parallel between Ymir and Mikasa which I explained as well

PO

Can be, but Ymir and the boy with the dog approach the tree in very different circumstances. Ymir was filled with hatred and was in a life or death situation so she turned herself into an immortal monster. The boy found the tree while exploring with his dog living a happy life years and years after the nukes were dropped. He has no reason to turn into a monster. There are very good explanations of these out there I tried my best

PO

Eren admitting that if anyone else had this kind of power the outcome wouldn't be the same. He realizes that this was the only outcome because he is 'an idiot who got his hands on power' this sums up eren perfectly. He "did it for himself" becuase HE wanted his friends to live long lives, HE wanted a free world that isn't occupied, HE wanted the power of titans to vanish. HE was disappointed that humanity outside the walls was alive. A lot of people thought eren weeping to armin was 'out of character'. but we know that that was the real eren. he didn't have to put on the act anymore since armin was going to remember it after erens death.

PO

We don't like genocide over here. If you said Zeke and Yelena were right I'd agree lol

PO

I hope you guys do a live stream where fans can answer questions and clear things up. Seems like some important points were missed. We can also point out fun foreshadowing from older episodes that'll blow your minds! Also, please read the comments on here with a bunch of likes, almost all of them are very useful for understanding what you might've missed, the patrons did a great job! <3 ps: or just ask me to send you my essay outlining and explaining everything lmao

Crazy how I rewatched the entire series with you guys from the beginning. I've watched a lot of reaction channels but you guys were the only ones that I actually subscribed to in Patreon to watch full-length. Life is crazy and very busy but I always made time to do the watch-along with you guys every week. So sad that it has ended. Also you guys actually made me watch the finale because I wanted to see your guys' reaction to the finale because that's how amazing your reactions were throughout the entire show. I have read the manga all the way to the end and have been watching the series since 2013. I've rewatched AOT probably a few dozen times (I have it in the background a lot) but I always stop short just right before the finale because it just feels so bittersweet watching the ending of a show that's been with me literally almost half my life. Reading the finale in the manga is so much more different to me than watching the ending of the show. The show just means so much more to me (since I grew up watching it) and watching the finale feels so.... "final." I couldn't force myself to watch it before but you guys are so amazing that I just had to watch it too.

Daniela Fangueiro

It's not confirmed to be any of them in the end credits. Keep it as a headcanon of yours, will you?

Alex Eimers

Pieke, the cart titan was able to change a lot because of her endurance, they explain her endurance, and how she could stay in cart titan form for months at a time. When she would go back to human form she would walk on all fours. It’s because of her high endurance she was selected for the cart titan, explained in 4x2 or 3

I'm Batman

I agree, I do understand why people would assume that though. Many were desperate to see Jean get a possible future where him and Mikasa hook up, it just doesn't make sense from a characters standpoint for Mikasa. She was solely devoted and in love with Eren, also I like Jean and wouldn't want him to be 2nd fiddle to Eren even though he was dead. In the end though I think it's all up for interpretation.

AbraxasBelzebub

I wanted to comment kind of the same about the different circumstances of entering the tree for Ymir and for the Boy with the dog. Ymir ran and accidentally fell into the tree, she was afraid and injured, in a lot of pain. She was still a little girl too, I find it often is forgotten. So as the creature in the tree fused with her, she turned into something that couldn´t really get hurt like that and wouldn´t need to be afraid... but that didn´t change who she was... a frightened, injuried child, who now had the means to be invincible but those came from outside of her, rather than something she would learn and become on her own. (not to mention the Stockholm Syndrom kind of thing that she must have developed after the King decided to keep her around). I would also wanna add that the importance of her leaving the gate to the pigsty open. She smiled when she walked off from there, I think she pitied the pigs, knowing they were going to get slaughtered and eaten, so she wanted to set them free. But I also think this all leading to disaster for herself, was what made the whole Titan eating human thing happen. (I hope this makes sense, it does so in my head XI) The boy from the epilogue on the other hand seemed peaceful, and he wasn´t alone. He seemed to calmly wander through the forest exploring. And I think that gives hope that whatever happens to him when he enters the tree, will be far less sinister and destructive than what happened with Ymir and the titans. Or at least that is how I see those aspects. :3 I also agree on the lacking reliability on Erens view. I feel by the end he didn´t really know what was him NOW...I think before he lost his life, he lost his mind in a way. He meant well and is a product of the world he was born into. But like many people in our world even, he flailed, didn´t really have that much support, what with the politics and military kinda straight out threatening to kill him if he as much as sneezed in his titan form. Perhaps it is very naive of me but I think the true Eren was the one who liked to peacefully nap under the tree... everything else was the circumstances and repeated trauma (not only his own, but all the previous Attack Titan owners) in a world laced with conflict + supernatural factors implying time shenanigans. A true tragedy.

Finally watched this after a long work day. So happy to have been on this journey with you guys. Yall actually had me finish the series after stop watching at season 2 years back. They wrapped it up so well and mason quinn I’m so glad u were spot on with ur interpretation of the scenes 🥰🥰 great reaction totally work my Patreon subscription ❤️❤️🎉🎉🙏🏾🙏🏾

Fer I

What an amazing journey this was! This was my 4th full rewatch and I kept finding out new things that just blew my mind. As for the finale I think it was the most realistic way to end it, I was satisfied with how the story wrapped up and how Eren actually managed to do what he said on the first episodes of the show "wipe out all the titans", even when he had to die for it to be achieved. A big part of the people who were watching this show were actually disappointed with the ending, some hated the fact that Eren didn't complete the rumbling, others were fine with it until the post credit scene, but as much as some people wanted a happy ending, it would not be realistic at all, as it's said, conflict will always be there, whether there's millions of people alive or just a fraction of it. As for who Mikasa ended up with its not confirmed but speculated that it's actually Jean, as we all know he fell in love with her and couldn't let go off his feelings even when he knew Mikasa was in love with Eren. Some people think that after everything ended, they became closer and Jean vowed to always be there for Mikasa, even if it ment coming second as to the person she loved the most, Eren being first of course. I personally think it's not Jean but I don't think its a random guy either, it's selfish of me but I can't picture her with anyone other than Eren lol. Can't wait for the live and the reaction to the musical suite! It's being a pleasure being here for almost a year, waiting week after week for your reaction to my favorite show ever, love you guys!!

this being my first patreon purchase, i am glad i had this experience with y’all
