Just watched HBO inside the episode. Show runner said Oz didn't intentionally kill his brothers but he actively didn't save them knowing whats happening

I dont think Oz wanted to kill them. I think it just comes down to him wanting his mother to himself. In the first scene,it showed how Oz wanted to play with her but she gave her attention to his brothers. I feel like given his conditon,she treated him much different and more adult knowing he would have to grow up fast and learn to be strong minded. So when he got mad at his brothers in the sewer,i think he locked them in just out of anger and built up resentment towards them. And when hes watching the movie with her,all he can think about is that he got what he wanted.."He Won". So he wasnt thinking that they were in danger,just that they werent there. Like when he killed Sal,he kept boasting that he won,that mentality probably originated from the death of his brothers. Im sure he was probably upset that they died,but more so relieved that he got what he wanted. Its very obvious that Oz is a terrible person,so its no surprise to me that he wouldnt really care that they died. You can never truly tell what Oz cares about or if hes being honest,hes a masterclass in intelligent manipulation of people. Thats my two cents anyway,what a phenomanal episode,and that Sal death scene is easily one of my favorite death scenes from anything ive ever watched,bravo Colin Farrell. LFG!!!

Oh side note you guys mentioned that Oz looks like he has a different father and I couldn’t help but notice the resemblance to Rex???! Or maybe he was just idolizing him idk

Thank you guys so much for dropping the uncut version! I know you’re just trying it out but it’s perfect for me as I don’t have a second device to watch along with, I usually just wait until the YT cuts come out! Appreciate you guys and this great reaction!

This episode just flew by, by the end of it it only felt as long as an attack on titan episode. And watching the inside the episode the show runners talked about in Oz's head his brother's were playing a trick on him making him climb down that sewer ladder but that wasn't the case in reality. It said he loved his brother's but loved his mom way more and wanted her for himself. He didn't actively kill them but he didn't save them either. Kind of a Batman Begins with Ra's situation, won't kill ya but won't save ya either. It also states that the reason he goes over and beyond for his mom is partly due to him feeling regret for what happened to his brothers and how much it affected his ma. Also the whole Gia scene, my god, that was a hard watch.

Actually guys there will be no season 2. It's already been stated this is just a limited series so after the next episode we will be completely done with this show.

When he closed the door I don't believe Oz intended for his brothers to die, but when he looked at that jar filling with water, he knew what was going to happen but chose the attention of his mother over saving his brothers. Which in my opinion means he did intend to kill them at that moment, but not at first. Because I feel like if you choose not to save someone knowing they will die, that's tantamount to killing them.
