Tommy made arrangements in the event of his death with the letter. He always knew Campbell was going to try and kill him. That was an outcome he was never going to control. It was always a roll of the dice. Churchill never seemed like he was fully onboard with killing Tommy in my opinion last season. Tommy is an effective agent. For the record, Tommy has never stopped loving Grace. He could’ve moved on and never really seemed too. He told her she saw him and he sees her last season. Tommy is not a frivolous man in personal or professional business. Remember that. Great reaction as always!! Loved the double upload! 🔥🍷🫶🏽

The scene with Lizzie in this episode and Polly in the last, are why I have a hard time revisiting this season in particular. It's so hard to watch. But, I'm really happy to see you boys being so sympathetic and empathetic to their experiences because many reactors have not. The amount of people who HATE Polly for what Campbell did to her, instead of blaming *him* for being a coercive, abusive, sadistic beast is something I see way too often, believe it or not. I can't wait to see you all react to season three and beyond, and bring your wonderful perspective and understanding to these characters as they grow and evolve throughout the series.

100 percent Campbell was trying to play on Polly's feelings. He didn't give a damn about her. He thought she was a gullible woman who'd be taken in by the BS he was spewing. Also, Answer is right - Lizzie was trying to tell Tommy she's in love with him when she said not doing the "work" wasn't an issue anymore. I cannot wait for you guys to see next week's! Happy as hell you decided to double up this week to get to 3x01 faster.

Bless you guys for giving us two episodes!! If you end up watching the series again it becomes pretty apparent that Churchill has been keeping an eye on Tommy since Campbell showed up to Small Heath. Beyond just keeping the plot going, like you guys said, this is the moment we see Tommy realize he has things to live for. I also like to compare/contrast how he greets death vs. how Campbell behaves. I appreciate that you guys picked up on all the character's emotions so well; John, Lizzie, Michael....all spot on. I will say, I feel like May doesn't actually love Tommy. She loves that his life is exciting, that he's exciting to have around. He makes her 'feel alive' but that's not why Grace loves him. Two upper-class women who want the 'gangster' for very different reasons. Excited for season 3!!!

ooo thank you for the early release! I think one episode a week is good, but maybe the last two episodes could come together as the season finales are always a torture to wait for! I'm watching it for the first time with you and I'm loving every second of it, including your reactions!
