So fun fact Sasha was supposed to actually have died way back in Season 2 but the creator and the editor loved her and fans loved her so much they extended her story arc and as you'll see it will affect our main group a lot going forward. The gut punches get worse from here. I teared up at the end of this episode because I watched these characters for 8 years by the time S4 Part 1 started airing in 2021. I also avoid the manga because I wanted to be surprised when it aired.

A lot of your "complaints" regarding characters taking too long to do things are just artistic license or what I like to call "anime time". It's very common in the anime genre to show a character's reaction to a moment and linger there, while in reality it's been just a moment or a few seconds.

Remember in the episode showing Grishas(Erens dads) past Zeke was Grishas son who turned him in to Marley so Eren and Zeke are half brothers. Ik Dave knows but I feel the others may be confused thinking Zeke is his dad or uncle.

In anime it's very common to have groups of 3 people, that become friends, almost like family. Like Mikasa, Armin and Eren. Sasha, Connie and Jean were that kind of a team, that's why it was so painful for them to lose her. I hope I explained that right, English is not my first language. Love your reactions.

They blame Eren because it is Eren's fault. None of them agreed to this plan. Eren essentially forced them to rescue him by making himself a hostage. Their only other option was to let Eren die essentially and lose the Attack/Founding Titan.

As to Mason Quinn question regarding whether they can "choose" not to be there. The answer is NO. Remember Eren has the founding titan, the thing the Marley wants to posses so that they can continue their reigning power in the world and at the same time exterminate the Island folk. If they don't want that to happen they need to follow Eren plan to basically rescue him from enemies territory. Who by the look of thing(your perspective from all the information given in the episodes), havent consulted them about this plan of his.

Since you guys are still newish to anime one thing I will HIGHLY RECOMMEND is you don't try and over analyze why characters didn't have urgency or make the perfect choice in every situation. Anime will frequently use hesitation to not kill someone to set something up to make the story better later.

Similarly sometimes in anime, what LOOKS like someone taking there sweet time is mostly for dramatic effect and is actually happening in an instant! So what can often look like hesitation is really meant to be happening in a split second.

As far as anime goes, it seems like there's hesitation or no urgency to us because the time is still running, but in reality all of that is happening over the course of a second or two. Like Eren using the Jaw titan like a can opener: it seems like it's taking forever, but it really only took a couple seconds. You can consider it the animated equivalent of slow motion. Anime will frequently drag things out like that for dramatic effect.

I gotta agree, at first I wasn't a fan of gabi either, not to her being the one who killed Sasha or anything like that but most notibly her single minded hatred for the eldians on paradis, thinking all of them are only island devils. Even when she learns that Marley provoked the attack it still didn't change her perception on them. Later episodes though she did become tolerable and by later episodes I didn't hate her.

Questioning the reason Eren didn't eat the Jaw Titan, who's name is Galliard btw, as he is literally explaining it to you is pretty crazy lol. He said to Mikasa that he doesn't have the strength left to fight Reiner.. As someone who never finished Season 4 of this series I'm thoroughly enjoying going through the experience along with the crew, but man you guys need to do a better job paying attention to the dialogue some times. Guys, 90% of reactors miss or misinterpret a few things in this set of episodes. The story is deliberately complex and throws in like, 5 plot twists in just a few minutes. It’s meant to throw the audience off balance and have them start questioning everything. For sure clarify anything major, but damn, don’t roast people enjoying AoT!

FaZe Gabi is born :D The only thing I will say about this and the last episode is yes, you are wrong about some things. Everything has its reasons why these 2 episodes went the way they did. And yes of course Zeke Jaeger you must have forgotten that Zeke is his half-brother.

Reiner would have kept fighting if Eren stayed, so it would have taken too long to beat him and eat the jaw at the point they were at. It looks like it would take 2 seconds, but with Reiner fighting him, it would make it take much longer. Plus, he is close to his limit as he did transform 3 times and has fought for a while at this point while utilizing hardening and everything.

A couple memory refreshers, Zeke is erens half brother. Zekes mother, Dina Fritz, was the last descendant of the royal blood line with in Marley. Erens father, geisha, was married to Dina while he was in Marley, and she became the “Smiling Titan” who ate erens mom.

Fun fact Shasta was originally died far earlier in the manga but the author was persuaded to not do it after one of his staff cried in the restroom after reading a draft. In the anime she is more present but she was missing most of the volume 9 manga because of this.

People! Please stop complaining that BM is not reacting the way YOU want them to or that they are confused sometimes. I really would like to see how all of you understood everything at your 1st watch. They are not binging the show, they watch it since January 2 episodes a week. Plus they watch other shows weekly. You just don't remember how it was when you are at your 99th rewatch... This is not your regular simple battle shounen so why don't you just relax? Maison Quinn, possesing founding titan gives control over millions of collosal titans trapped in the walls, that can be released to destroy whole civilization (This is what Willy was talking about). Basically if scouts lose Eren (who has founding titan) they are done for, because that is the only thing rest of the world fears, and what is stopping them from destroying the island. That is why they got angry that Eren went ahead with his dangerous plan, just informing them about it in the letters, and made himself a target. You have seen few times he was about to be killed or eaten. So in a sense Eren forced them to come and rescue him after he decided by himself to risk it all. In addition I think some of scouts like Armin or Hange didn't want to participate in mass killings and turn whole world against them. Regarding Reiner/Jaw... I think its a mix of few things. Eren said at the beginning of the fight that he is out of power, and in relation to what I wrote above, escaping is more important that eating Jaw and risking losing founding titan. Maybe the confusion comes from your assumption that eating titans is most important, where in reality all that counts is the founding titan. Also Eren became more confident and maybe even arrogant which you can see in a way he glares at Reiner. There might be more to his reasons, but for now that's how you should understand it. It's not the sub. It's just the complex story and the fact they do not binge the show. They watch 2 episodes a week since January and they do not rewatch anything. On top of that, they watch other series and movies every day. Forgetting things in more than normal. Reactors watching in dubbing also get confused and mix things in a same way. I saw few accounts that watched sub, then rewatched in dub instantly and still got confused. This story has a lot of twists and turns and it is intended to confuse you and keep you in the dark untill the end so why are you all suprised that someone is confused is beyond me. You cannot recall how the 1st watch was for you, because you are at the 1000th rewatch and things seems more than obvious. For a 1st time watched nothing is obvious. By the way. Episode talking about Zeke and founding titan they did in dubbing YET they are still cofused about this info.

It's a way to show multiple perspectives of a scene otherwise you'd have Eren raise up Galliard to eat him as you hear kids screaming for those 5 seconds before Reiner transforms. There'd be so much happening at once you wouldn't know what to focus on or how to correlate it all.

In chaotic moments or if a character is talking offscreen, voice to character recognition is much easier to instantly know than hearing Japanese (there’s multiple accounts of this from watching them). 3. When there’s a LOT going on at once, reading can distract from the visual events instead of simultaneously taking in the audio and visuals at once.

Well I disagree with you. In this episode they were confused with Zeke (Mainson forgot his story) and they don't understand founding issue. That was episode done in dubbing. They are confused in a same way so are wrong. Other reactors are also confused with dubbing bro. Don't force your preference. It's a plot issue. Dub watchers are also very confused at the plot and actually the only 2 channels I have seen that followed everything and caught/ predicted most were watching in subs. You know why? Because they were watching 5 episodes a week and focused only on this show. BM is distracted with all other shows. At some point it's frustrating and annoying because the show is almost finished and they will not make any changes now. So the point is just to whine and disturb the comments blaming everything on subtitles when the reality is that the show is complex and people get confused. I have nothing against you, i wouldnt even care if they chose dubbing, but seeing those comments every week provokes the reaction at some point. I might be a little biased, but I think they’re missing small details because they aren’t watching in dub. In the dub, it’s easier to clearly hear what people are saying, making it clearer what’s happening in the situation. For me, reading subtitles can be distracting, and sometimes I forget what I just read because I get caught up in the action. You can get so excited by what’s happening that you might miss an important detail or nuance. I’m not saying this always happens, but when it does, it can lead to confusion later on.

Eren didnt eat the Jaw becasue Reiner was still capable of fighting altho he was hit and was on the ground Eren was out of juice but Reiner was still fresh... he already transformed 3 times before.. we have never seen him do that many one after another so... plus they had to go.. if Reiner gets up and holds down Eren he couldnt have gotten away..

Guys we MUST keep discussing sub and dub issue!! It's only been 9 months!! Everyone knows that if you watch dub, you will never miss anything, you will remember every single detail and you will understand this show perfectly at the 1st watch. Other reactors that watch dub never get confused, remember every single detail of the story and always know what is happening. It's for sure NOT the case that the show is complex, and they watch many things in between and do not rewatch... Everyone knows that the plot of AoT is extremely simple, writing is very predictable, and author doesn't keep you in the dark untill the end. The sub must be the culprit! Let's talk about subtitles and dubbing every single week, also after the show ends because it is the topic of highest priority!

To put it simply, Gabi is a indoctrinated child soldier. It's the whole Nurture vs Nature debate. Both Gabi and Falco were indoctrinated at a young age to be child soldiers. Gabi believes everything her superiors tell her(Nurture) while Falco tends to question things that feel wrong to him(Nature). Similar upbringing but different beliefs. Regardless, both of them are victims.

Why are they mad at Eren? Imagine your child just ups and decides to go to a foreign country without your consent. They send letters to let you know their okay. As a parent you do not care. You're getting on the next plane to that country to get their ass because their life is valuable to you. Similar situation here. Eren is Paradis's strongest weapon. He is their sword and their shield. If he ups and leaves, they have no choice but to go and save him because any chance of winning a war with Marley depends on Eren. ALSO, in Eren's lone warrior rampage, he killed diplomats from all over the world. This has made nearly every country in the world an enemy against Paradis. I know you guys were cheering and what not, but during my first watch I was baffled. Paradis is NOT the United States. They are a small country with a tiny military and logistically incapable of waging war with another country. They are also severely behind in technology. If you recall from the end of Season 3, they had never seen a real photograph before let alone the ocean. The rest of the world uses automobiles to get around. They still use horses for transportation in Paradis. Willey portrayed Paradis as an imminent threat and Eren's rogue actions only cemented that belief. Beating Marley alone is a near impossible task and now the military might of the world is going to unite against Paradis. Based on what information we know so far, the Scouts have every right to be pissed at Eren.

I just found it hilarious that as Eren was telling Mikasa that he was too tired to finish the fight, you guys were screaming over his dialogue saying “why isn’t Eren finishing the fight?” It gave me a good laugh, but keep doing what you guys are doing don’t let some negative viewers get to you guys.

The reason why Eren didn't try to get the jaw back or fight Reiner after Reiner had grabbed it is because Eren was exhausted from turning into a titan 3 times in a row. He was at his limit and therefore knew that he wouldn't have had the energy to be able to safely beat Reiner. That combined with their limited time makes him fall back. He could've taken a bite before Reiner came up but he didn't, I think that part was just cockiness or arrogance. Or just a story element to give time for the kids to call for Reiner.

I can’t wait for their mind to just be blown away in the rest of this series 😆. Season 4 is an absolute roller coaster. Btw it’s okay to be confused. I still pick up new things and I’ve rewatched it so many times. I do prefer dub because it’s easier for me to retain so I urge yall maybe to watch it again in dub on your own time, but if you prefer sub that’s okay too! I’d recommend note taking 😃 Zeke is of royal blood cause of Eren’s dad’s (Grisha) first wife Dina. Eren has the founder that his dad Grisha got from Historia’s sister. Together they can start the rumbling with the thousands of colossal titans within the walls.

Maison Quinn, when is comes to your comment that everything is slow and doesnt move fast enough. It's common in anime to lets say "pause" time so one scene can be shown from a perspective of several characters. Often a flashback is shown during seconds or a longer inner monolog. It's fine if you don't like it but that's what anime does very often.

@MJK You shouldn't assume everyone has rewatched this 1,000 times, as this is my first rewatch. I disagree with you saying that nothing was obvious; everyone is different. I immediately knew Annie was the Female Titan when I first saw the Female Titan's eyes and nose. I also understood the story perfectly it was easy to follow, especially since I was binge-watching the show. So, again, you can’t assume and conflate everyone with yourself. However, I do agree with everything else you stated.

I do not conflate myself with others. I simply point out the fact that people shouldnt get frustrated at the 1st time watchers when they miss SOME details and nuances in the story, and I think there are a lot of them in AoT. Recognizing Annie or Eren does not count as a detail in my books. It's more of a either you catch it or not kind of thing. My point was more about them forgetting things because they watch daily other series and do not rewatch episodes. They do not remember some things from other seasons and it's not their lack of interest but tight schedule. When you on the other hand know the show by heart, thing seems very obvious and almost impossible to miss. People forget the feeling of confusion they had themselves. My comment was directed at people saying that it's only because of subtitles or complaining and attacking them in the comments for being confused. It would be much better if they watched AoT twice a week to keep the story fresh in their minds, but it is what it is👺

I think I know what happened. When there is too much anticipation about certain episodes, often reactors cannot mach it in a way that will be satisfactory. A bit more agressive comment section often forms when people feel underwhelmed about reaction. But there is a lot of positive comments so I think BM knows all is well.
