Okay, so the fate of [Master's Shield] is decided. Now the question is whether to go with what Deckard suggests - that is, [Beast Core] or, despite all the drawbacks to the skill Korra should choose [Fierce Pounce].

Don't forget that Korra will also choose the additional skill instead of [Eleaden Standard Language] from the General Skills. So if she chooses [Beast Core], she then reaches for some offensive among the General Skills and vice versa - example.

Fierce Pounce

Active II (Deviant - 30%)

Weapons are sharp and piercing. They can crush the enemy with brute force, and shatter the spirit of theirs at sight. But so can your bare fists and claws. Every punch, slash, or kick, every attack made without a weapon, carries a part of your fierceness slumbering within you.

Additional power to your attack and the sharpness of your claws increased by 45%(35%) → 65%(50%).

[Call of Nature] - Additional power to your attack increased by 65%(50%) and the sharpness of your claws by 65%(50%) → 97%(50%)

Beast Core

Passive I (Deviant - 30%)

Still human at your root, you’re capable of creating what only beasts with potential can. The core is a testament to your abilities, a proof of your strength, a token of your determination, and first and foremost, a place to store your mana for times of need. As you grow, it will grow with you.

Before I vote: What does Beast Core even do for her? Doesn't she already have one? Edit: Yes I write this before reading chapter 198

More in the chapter (edit: I figured), but generally not much is known. After all, she's probably the only person who has that skill. As an author, I say it will allow her core to grow, the subsequent tier then something like more capacity, efficiency and it could generally affect her magic - bonuses to intelligence and wisdom and such.

I would also love for her to go more on the route of a magical warrior and think her general skill (that replaces her language skill) should reflect that. Either some kind of self buff skill (I would prefer that) or some skill that helps with her Mantel of magic.

Nirrvash

The way of the magical warrior sounds good to me too - let's see how the poll turns out :)

Okay, I'm voting for the Beast-Core. But that may be because I'm simply more interessted in the magical side of things. There is also the fact that in the fight with Stella she would have benefited a lot by having armour for her legs/feet (at least the tops) and her arms/hands. She may be a "Deviant of Humanity" with all of the beast-stuff, but I feel she under-utilizes the human part by forgoing the help of tools there. From my perspective that part is way more interesting than whatever is up with Fierce Pounce. That skill while usefull is just sooooo boring... xD. From Korras perpective it is a difficult question because utility is important...... but then again so is magic...... so in the end a toss up and I think magic's more interessting.....

Beast core looks better in the long run and could help her deal with the physical and mental problem that she have.

Nirrvash

True, it might finally force her to confront the problems instead of just passing them off as if they don't exist.

Did not expect to see such a disparity between the options. I do think beast core is the more interesting option. Especially since we don’t the next tier bonuses. But deckard has a point. It’s better to see what it has at tier 2 or even 3 then to fully commit to fierce pounce.

Nirrvash

True, these are two completely different skills, two different paths to take, and from the looks of the poll, we'll find out more about [Beast Core] - I'm honestly amazed by the number of readers who are in favor of this skill.
