So if I had to go based on poll alone the clear winners were Chronicles of a Beast and Lament of a Slave. However, poll wasn't the only thing helping me make a decision, for the most part it was you guys in the comments. And of course my own ideas about the name, and here I will take the liberty of outlining my idea.

A lot of about that has been said before so I won't repeat it, but my idea was for the cover I'm working on to go hand in hand with the title. The cover for the first ark would have Korra crying and as the story would go on and she became more forthright about what she is, her cries would gradually turn into bestial roar. Tier 3 Patreons know what I'm talking about.

So I'd like to call the first ark, the book if you will, Slave's Cry. Of course, I'm still open to suggestions.

Well, as for the whole title of the story, Lament of a Slave, is kind of at odds with that arc title. And as many of you have pointed out something like Chronicles of a Beast is kind of bland. While technically she is both slave and beast throughout the whole story, is not what the story is about - in broad terms she transforms from being a slave into a dangerous beast. But what remains throughout the story, as some of you have pointed out, is her lament - and it was what made the original title kind of unique - within the bounds of how something can be unique these days. With that said, I came up with a few choices and here they are.

PS: Like mentioned above, feel free to speak your mind - point out that it sounds weird to native English speakers or something.

PS2: Keep in mind that this is the name for the first ark, the following ones would be in the same style up to something like Beast's Roar. At least that's the idea.

If you want to express the idea of crying/weeping, "slave's cry" is probably not the phrase you want here. [Noun]'s Cry normally parses as a shout or exclamation, in the same sense as a Town Crier, or "[Noun] cried out". If you want to express crying in terms of weeping, I'd normally write it as "Slave's Tears", or use the verb form as in "Slave's crying". So "Lament of Korra: Slave's Tears" if that's the idea you're trying to convey. Although as I've said elsewhere I personally read the story more as one of victory and freedom, and for that Slave's Cry is more fitting, as a cry of triumph.

Could also use Slave's Fear or the like, you can fear something without being crippled by it. Though Slave's Folly has its charm while Korra is thrashing about trying to figure stuff out. And I voted Lament of Korra: Slave's Cry, from those listed "Lament" by itself is none descriptive of the story, but it is also the most stand out part of the name so it needs to be first for impact while the identifier, of Korra, means nothing without context thus should be behind Lament. Also, if you lead off with Korra, new people will just see a fan flick of Avatar the last air bender and a lot will either nope out on sight or after they were 'lied' to when it has nothing to do with Avatar. Honestly, I would either avoid using her first name, add her last name, or use her last name once it gets added onto to avoid this hiccup.
