Hey everyone,
things are finally slowing down again from the Femdemic launch. I'm still trying to keep up with all the support channels for that game, but things are now at a more normal pace and I expect it to only go up if I release new patches. I will release another small bugfix build this Friday, but after that I'll let it rest for a while and see what it turns into.

That means over the past week, I've returned to the development of the next patch for BMO TV, and I'm excited to share with you what has been planned for this new iteration.

Please be aware that the progress reports will from now on contain spoilers for the true ending of the game, that you can reach from V0.6.0 onwards, so if you haven't played that yet, I highly recommend you do before reading on.

Alright... let's look at the new features in V0.6.1!

1. Monster Girls and Transformations

So if you've seen the true ending, you'll have realized that it's not just an ending like the others, but opens up a new world to play. This world is currently in very early stages and will be filled with more content. This will come in the form of several monster girls talking (or having fun?) with you. Maybe we'll also get a new transformation theme out of this? Who knows? ;)
Just kidding, of course you know.

In V0.6.1, we're adding the first of a series of monster girls into the game with the goo girl in the pool area. I love the dripping effect, and hope you'll have some fun with her.
As you may know, the gameplay mechanics in the area are greatly reduced since there's no time advancement or vote gaining anymore, but over time, the monster girls will get their own affection system. I don't think that'll make it into this patch, and the whole true end gameplay loop will take several updates to finish, but maybe you get the idea where things are headed.

2. Himari VN Character Expressions

One thing that I've been meaning to push forward for quite a while, was character models for the NPC, that are more in line with typical visual novels. Because of the transformative nature of the game, this is a trememdous amount of work though, and our character artists Awn has been cooking this up for quite some time while I was occupied with the Femdemic launch preparations, creating 29 facial expressions and 15 arm poses.

We chose Himari as the first character to get this overhaul, because she already has tons of events where we can utilize the new graphics. This, of course, is going to be my job over the next weeks. To insert these poses into as many dialogs with Himari I can find. I assume that the first iteration won't be complete though. I'm planning on adding this in all dialogs slowly over time.

3. Pushing the Non-Ally content forward

I've been resisting this for long enough, but the Femdemic launch has made me realize that there are a lot of people that just don't give a damn about the player transformations and while the game will always be about that first, obviously the other branches of the game should get fleshed out as well. I just didn't consider that to be a top priority until now.

However, with the addition of the ally route ending, all other branches are at least semi-complete, even though, a lot of content is still missing. So now the Non-Ally route is a beacon of incompleteness in my opinion. So I'll give it some love, and add more content to it.

That will mostly include adding content to transformed NPCs and such, and also there will eventually be a new Erica branch depending on if you are the one responsible for the NPCs transformations or if she is. That won't be this patch, but I'll push things a little further into that direction. New Endings for that will follow at some point.

4. NSFW Minigame Stats

So, one criticism the game sometimes gets is the reliance on "Quicktime Events" and I disagree with the notion that they are lazy design. It's a moment in the story where the player character has to react quickly to avoid the traps, so the player should have to feel something similar. However, I agree that with character growth, e.g. through stat increases, the player should be able to bypass these events with a better chance.
I also disagree that a rhythm game like the NSFW minigame can be called a quicktime event, but of course, I can understand that there are players who aren't going to be good at it.

So I'm going to give the BJ minigame the same treatment I gave the trap avoidance and give the player the option to bypass it by rolling using their stats instead. Bypassing gives a certain chance to fail based on mood and how good the character is at that act.
You can then improve your stat by not bypassing the minigame or through certain story events. Failing a bypassed check, will also still improve your ability. I already decreased the difficulty a few patches ago, but I'll also continue to do so and make it dependant on the difficulty chosen by the player on game start.

This criticism is the only reason I hadn't expanded the minigame to the other NSFW scenes yet, and why I held back on adding a lot of new scenes.
However, since this patch will add a lot more scenes, I've decided to finally do the rework.

5. Adding more Customization to the Corruption Transformation

In V0.6.0 the corrupted true ending was added where through corruption, you'll undergo your own demoness transformation. With V0.6.1 I'm adding several new ways to customize the look of your demon. A new outfit, a new hairstyle, several different hairstyles, and new ways to choose what colors you're getting.
We'll add more options to the main corruption transformation of the true end over time, while also adding more monstergirl transformations as mentioned above.

Hey I like the game but I have had trouble (NOT BROKEN OR BUGED) with "4. NSFW Minigame Stats" where my character is so sad that no matter how good I do I can never win. It's a catch 22 sad because she wants c#m but cant win to get c#m so is sad because she wants c#m.

There will be no walkthrough update in the near future. That‘s what the hourglass in the game is for already. Also, people reading the walkthough will make it so I don‘t get any valuable playtesting data to improve the gameplay.

Quick question: how do I make sure I keep my progress between updates? Where is the save stored?

If you‘re on Windows, it‘s in the user‘s Appdata folder so nothing for you to do. You can just delete or replace your game files without worrying. It‘s similar on the other platforms but I don‘t know the exact path.

I know you're infinitely more likely to get comments concerning issues in the game vs. otherwise, just the nature of the beast— but just wanted to say this game rules and I've enjoyed the updates
