I enjoyed the vertical farming video, for its outer space futurist vibe, which is obviously the wrong reason. Vertical farming seems like a resource-intensive hi tech solution to a problem to a problem that has an obvious low tech solution. An obscenely large proportion of our agricultural production is wasted in transit simply due to inefficiency in transportation, distribution, and marketing. More personally, all of us have observed people throwing good food away simply because they didn't feel like eating it. Perhaps a good follow-up episode of JHAT would be to explore these inefficiencies and how (barring an authoritarian state forcing us to 'clean our plates') they could be reduced.
