here's a little behind the scenes for my upcoming Coraline illustration that I'm making-- I wanted to do something from one of my favorite spooky time movies of ALL time

this is a little weird anecdote but I once got really sad because I thought I couldn't look pretty during fall because I had blue hair and then my mom pointed out Coraline to me and I was like "oh duh, I look cute as hell" 

ANYWAYS... about this piece: 

so obviously this is the tunnel, I plan to add in Coraline digitally after I line her traditionally to make sure everything lines up correctly-- I did this with a combination of gouache, sparkly watercolors and sharpie

I want this to be a big message because all the things I used to make this were $12 or under, you really don't need a whole lot to learn a new medium (I myself am still learning gouache) or to make something really cool, you just need the wherewithal and practice
