July 2022 Song Download: Early Release of Bad Vibes Single! (Patreon)

Greetings Plastic Party Patrons! 

Your July song download is our latest single: BAD VIBES! - This is our first single off of the upcoming album: Dimensions!  The song will officially be released this Friday, so you are getting an early download before anyone else!

With it being officially summer, we decided to make this the first release from the album because of its surf-punk, Beach Boys, power pop, (with a bit of Rentals-esque synth mixed in) sound.  The 'vibe' of this song is quite different (with heavier guitars, electric bass and sweet distortion on the vocals) than what we typically do. However, the Fantastic Plastic style of pairing the happy, dance-y tones of the music mixed with somewhat dark lyrics is definitely present.

This song started with the guitar riff written by Tyson, then CBD added the drums and synth bass, then the lyrics/vocals and synth leads were added by Tyson and Miranda. Then, at the last minute before sending it over to be mixed and mastered by Josh Hager (of Devo!), Tyson added the electric "Big Pinky" bass! The song also features some beautiful vocal harmonies by our friend Jeff Gregory in the intro and chorus.

We hope it becomes the song of the Plastic Party's Summer! Thank you all again for all the support and encouragement! We are so excited for this album!!!
