Hey all!

Over the bank holiday weekend I had the sudden desire to make a super quick Zelda video, ahead of this week's launch for Tears of the Kingdom.

This is one of my "GMTK Mini" videos - shorter, scrappier, more topical videos I put together in a few days in between the longer stuff. (As such, these skip Patreon credits and early access).

I had fun making it, hope you dig it! It'll go live for all in a little while.

How Nintendo Solved Zelda's Open World Problem

To mark the release of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, let's look back at the making of Breath of the Wild's open world. GMTK Minis are shorter, scrappier, more topical videos that I can make in between bigger episodes. Good shit. Didn't notice any errors, definitely see the effort put into this. Thanks for feeding into my brain's perpetual hype machine around TotK.

I'm so glad you're bringing that talk to the masses! I know you meant this as a Mini, but I would watch any amount of content you decided to make around that lecture. I have a feeling this might turn into one of those classic "projects you did rather quickly but that turn into massive smash hits and outperform other projects that took 10x the workload".

Excited to watch. Please add to Nebula. Thanks!

OSW Review

i love how your minis run almost 10m and are longer than a lot of youtubers!

Dalen W. Brauner

Really glad you have a functional outlet for quick one-off sources of inspiration. The results speak for themselves. Great timing, too!

Hey, any chance you can drop nebula links as well to make it easier to bookmark?

Blackreach

Great video - hope Nintendo don't come after you looking for their slides!

You labelled it "Mini" but it's almost 10 minutes long, has the quality of your usual content and feels "complete" in all honesty ^^
