Hello!

So, the GMTK Game Jam has closed for another year. This one was bonkers, for lots of reasons.

Partly because it was HUGE: over 7,000 participants, 2,600 games submitted, 46,000 ratings, and so much traffic it completed killed itch.io's servers. It was manic.

But also because I've had to juggle the jam with moving house, redecorating this new house, visiting a family member in hospital, and trying to get internet sorted (this entire video was made and uploaded on 4G data!)

And finally, because we got an especially large amount of feedback this year. People generally love the jam itself (we just need to clarify a few rules), but the voting / rating system has come under intense scrutiny. So I'll be working with itch.io to improve it in 2020.

Anyway, after all that, I'm giving myself a holiday for a week. I'm off up north for a nice trip with the fiancee. Patron rewards like the reading list and editing tutorial will be automagically released while I'm gone. And then I'm back in September for Metroid Prime 3 Boss Keys, the start of Design Icons, and more.
