Another page from the Artel comic strip (Patreon)
Content
I purposely deleted the text to avoid spoilers :-P
Today I'm going to talk about how each page of the comic is created :)
But... *coughing sound* a little preface:
You'll see the full version of the comic if you subscribe for $10 or more (macaroons).
Also: Good friend, please note that the comic contains pages of nudity (and near-nudity).
I'm obligated to warn you about that.))
I'm happy for any support from you - when the patrons have saved up $300 or more, I can continue working on the comics. That is, there will be new issues. In the style presented (and even better). It's up to you to decide what they'll be, through a voting system.
Until that happy moment I can only draw in my spare time - to work fully on a comic you need all the time I have))
Because each page goes through stages:
- Writing the script
- Storyboarding the page (placing the picture panels)
- First draft
- Printing outline to evaluate the size and clarity of the image
- Lettering (inserting text into bubbles, drawing the bubbles themselves).
- After that, I draw the page in pencil, on paper. It's long and painstaking.)
- Then comes the line stage. I use a liner to trace the drawing.
- Then I paint. A lot, a lot of paint)).
- Then it was time for the final tracing of the lines.
- Now it's time for the scanning and the magic of Photoshop.
- And then it's back to lettering.
I'm not listing all the steps, but all the most important ones. Now you have an idea of what's behind just one page of the issue. However, there are always easier ways (but I really love classic hand-drawn comics)
There you go, folks. To subscribers, with an example of a one-page comic, I'll show you how it's done step by step. From pencil to final stroke.
Love, Tanya Lynx.
