Omg i am obsessed with modeling backgrounds in Sketchup!! I also attached a really bad quality image of the castle i downloaded then edited in the software!! My laptop is charging rn! so maybe another time ill attach the model in high res!!

basically! i download a model/ model my own stuff, then I run it in a rendering software to get a sense of lighting directions and finally - paint over the images on my iPad!!!

It still takes a long time but improves the accuracy of some more detailed things! I only model parts - not everything! So in this piece, only the castle was modeled! Everything else is hand painted.

I love this alot πŸ₯° You did amazing on just about everything from the background to the standing character. Colors are just phenomenal and the details are out of this world πŸ’–. I love your ability to take a low res image and model it into a drawing, remastering it. Love this drawing alot. (I pledged on Patreon yesterday, just as I said I would on Instagram messaging your story 😁)

Thank you soo much Zac and WELCOME!!!! <3333 I really wanted to test my use of colour with the background and foreground and the low res image is actually the model!! I basically downloaded it into Sketchup, edited some of the geometries myself to make it more fantasy like, then i rendered it in a software called Enscape!!I want to combine my architectural modeling skills with my art to make pieces that little bit more accurate! It still takes just as much time and skill, A lot of concept artists use this technique too!! Though I do prefer hand painting most things!!! <#

In that case, I'm super excited to see what other amazing art you create with this technique πŸ₯° knowing that you have architectural experience and combining it with your art skills is something that I know will amaze 😁
