Hey all!! Heres some art I have been doing this evening! Honestly I have not done art like this in uhhhh…. Forever!! Anyway 🤣 Its propbably full of errors.

So heres my two cents about drawing realistically on your iPad:

- use a large canvas size - you dont want the final outcome to be pixelated.

- Use as few pushes as possible - yes thats right. The more brushes you use, the more cluttered the outcome will be. Using 1-3 brushes means that your piece is more connected with a nice painterly style

- avoid airbrushing -  this might just be me but I never blend or use air brush. Why? Because it can make your painting appear more digitalised. I like to blend using the brush I am using for applying colour at different opacities. You can layer on colour and blend but keep the texture!

- Start dark then get lighter - I see a lot of people struggling to know where to start but when I used to do these kind of drawings by hand using my prismacolour pencils, I found that starting with a dark tone then building up lighter worked wonders. Each medium is different of course. I wouldn’t start with your darkest shade either! Just in case you want to completely lighten it up or change the colours a little

- EVERY REALISTIC PIECE HAS AN UGLY PHASE - I mean just swipe to see what I mean…. I am so not confident with drawing people anymore because I am a perfectionist ano it takes many layers to get some resemblance.

- If you want, I can attach the brushes I used to make this below. Theyre amazing brushes.
