Starting with the first Beta of YK's reboot Acheron, featuring all of the important back end changes and a variety of QoL fixes and tweaks:

  • Hunter Pride has been rebuild from scratch. There may not be a whole lot of visual changes to you but the back end is significantly advanced, allowing dynamic loading new options and building the menu relative to the number of options available. Acheron itself will only feature 4 options: Rescue, Plunder (robbing), Execute and Feed (Vampire)
  • Hunter Pride no longer pauses the game
  • Being defeated now reduces your Hp to 0, independent of how or what defeated you
  • Player only: You can recover from defeat status when you (naturally) regenerate a specific amount of Hp. Acheron will not change the amount of Hp you regenerate. You may also recover after a certain amount of time has passed. Both of these recoveries can be disabled and can only apply during combat
  • Follower: Followers may recover from defeat status when they are unloaded
  • NPC: Npc no longer recover when they unload. Instead they recover only when they respawn. NPC that never respawn will hence never recover
  • Acheron now includes a variety of console commands you can use to debug potential issues. The debug options in the MCM have been removed. Accessing acherons console commands requires you to prefix your console command with "acheron" followed by the desired command. These commands otherwise behave like other console commands. Use "acheron help" for a list of possible commands
  • You can now view consequences and change the weight of every type (instead of only hostile ones). Note that Acheron itself does not offer any consequences which can be adjusted so these pages will be blank
  • Adding settings to disallow the player/NPC from being defeated
  • Added a setting to prevent followers from defeating their target while hunter pride is not active
  • MCM Settings are now saved and loaded automatically when you save/load the game
  • The plugin is now an .esl plugin
  • Loading the mod without its associated plugin will now throw an error on load up
  • Some improvements to memory usage and performance

About Condition: Trauma

The trauma condition isnt part of this beta yet, reason being that Im not entirely sure about the balancing and precise implementation yet. Nevertheless, let me give you a quick insight on what this condition is about:

The primary goal of Acheron is to add some more depth to combat; However, unlike other combat mods, Acheron attempts to add this 'depth' in a passive way: Instead of changing how combat works by actively implementing new combo systems and similar, it attempts to add different ways to end combat, essentially adding more ways to 'die' and with that, forcing you to be more careful in how you approach combat as now there are more things to look out for than simply "not having your Hp drop to 0"

Though currently, it doesn't really fit that idea all too well, having only 2 conditions available, one of which is the "default death" event and the other .. well, the other one can certainly be a bit annoying and doesnt synergize well with every setup

The trauma condition is intended to help filling this void by creating a more generalized method of being beaten in combat: It will play around the idea of what exactly would happen when a hammer comes crashing down right onto your skull and you didnt manage to block it. It will take into consideration what happens when you are being hit by a power attack, a back attack, maybe an explosion? How likely would it be that you would just stand up and continue fighting like nothing happened?

I hope to be able to implement this condition with the next Beta

Requirements:

Patch notes 1.0.3

  • Fixed an issue causing ctds when saving the game
  • Fixed an issue causing infinite loading screens when loading a game
  • Fixed an issue causing hunter pride options to not be loaded correctly from the cosave

Path notes 1.1

  • Added an option to enable/disable consequences through the MCM
  • Fixed the default event to not display the fade out correctly and calling an invalid function from the main API, causing potential soft locks
  • Fixed an issue causing defeat & pacify statuses to not be cleared correctly
  • Fixed multiple issues causing some consequence events to not be played correctly
  • Fixed consequence event settings to not have the correct weight values saved to its .yaml file

Patch Notes 1.2.1

  • Added various native functions to Acheron.psc
  • Added toggle to disable killmoves, based on the patch suggested by Mister X (This setting is currently NOT saved to the external MCM file and hence resets in every new game)
  • Fixed Hunter Pride options not being recognized correctly (This change is NOT backwards compatible, existing mods integrating into Hunter Pride will need to be patched to work with 1.2.1)
  • Fixed an event with weight 0 being recognized as a valid outcome
  • Fixed Guard default event not properly removing pacification in some cases

Cederien

So I switched from Naked Defeat to the YK, Archeron and Practical Defeat combo. Sorry to say the sailing has been less then smooth, in fact in almost every larger fight I get a CTD that looks like this: https://privatebin.net/?7cecc95e492afb5b#5fagrrxEREb8m9mGTW8jkuZwsoqh1yQyzac373tD7TZH Any ideas?

I'm getting a similar error. I get defeat notifications but Yamete hasn't been successfully triggered yet. I'm on W11 and I made sure I got x64 Visual C++ from https://aka.ms/vs/17/release/vc_redist.x64.exe https://privatebin.net/?01dee231f2adc19a#BPsi7ntj6zLX6XSXdqSA5sDaaryZTr1i3T2pdQaqiLsN Any ideas?

Use the crash logger with .pdb support pls. I dont really care about netscript logs anymoe Do you use any of the mods Cederien mentions? Also crashing on physical attacks only? Combat with humans only? (Also for future reference, Id be best to comment on 1.3 instead of 1.2 for 1.3 related issues)
