As I recall from the book, Jeff Goldblum's character (Ian Malcolm) was more likable and Richard Attenborough's (Dr. John Hammond) a bit less likable.

I saw this in the theater when it came out in 1993. It was awesome. One of the first movies to use CGI and Surround Sound. I highly recommend checking out an earlier movie written by Michael Crichton called "Westworld". Most people are familiar with the TV show, but haven't seen the movie. Go check it out. It's great.
