Almost all the extras and one-line bit actors come off as non-actors who just really wanted to be in the show. Did Lynch let a ton of normie megafans onto the set?

at 1:52 vinny is saying that lynch is using pre made video effects for the bomb scenes. to me these scenes look like in camera special fx, things like lynch has been making since the 70's. is there any truth to lynch using premade effects or filters?
