Hi all.

Making up for the past week of relative inactivity, I made a lot of break through this weekend.

First off, I am getting quite comfortable with Marvelous Designer now. It is a fun and powerful tool and I will be using it more often. As you can see, the cloth simulation is better at capturing cloth fold and wrinkle than I ever could sculpt myself.

And the best thing is, this is relatively low poly. With a little manual loop adjustment and topology edit, it could even be a game-ready mesh.

The main reason for using this tool is, however, for the flat UV it creates. As you know, Raiden Shogun wear an extravagant kimono with intricate pattern, even for anime style. To paint such thing in realistic fashion, I would need a 2D surface to work on.

Unfortunately the following week, I will be quite occupied with IRL affair. I will try to get the rough shape done so I will be left with the detailing work.
