I love that you're already thinking about the larger implications of what Return by Death will mean for Subaru. And if you thought this was a long wait for an OP/ED, you're not ready for season 2 🤣

It is exceedingly rare to get both an OP and an ED in the same episode of ReZero lol. A couple things that may interest you: - Reinhard is voiced by Gojo’s Japanese VA, but is also voiced by Robbie Daymond (Akechi’s VA) in the dub. - It’s alluded to briefly but Subaru’s hair is noted as “uncommon” because black hair is exceedingly rare. In the novels Subaru notices that he doesn’t see anyone with that hair color while walking around the kingdom (until Elsa.)

Yeah sure a Japanese author (who has the same hair color as Subaru) of a Japanese form of media will be totally racist using a very common physical traits of Japanese people: Black hair. It is wild how you make such an assumption out of nowhere lmao

i feel like i'm someone who is pretty cognizant of harmful stereotypes in media (and i agree internalized racism for sure exists) but this is definitely NEITHER of those situations. not sure if you watched the first couple episodes but it wasn't implied like that at all. you're obviously free to not watch the show though!
